Looking at the radar I expect the snow to stop in the next hour but at the moment it’s still coming down pretty hard.

we’ve had a covering from it though which I didn’t expect after the dreariness of the last couple of days.

I agree, this has caught me out a bit I know they said showers.... Ive just looked at the radar I use and its sitting right over us although it is easing here.

Should finish in the next 20mins.

Still plenty of snow up there?

Not a lot really but some decent drifts on the side of the road between Bacup and Burnley and behind the dry stone walls.

Well the rains stopped but it's washed most of the snow away

Had a little sprinkling of snow overnight - could see a dusting at about 1.30am.  However we've had rain on and off all morning and much of the lying snow has been washed away.  Oh well!  It's been an exciting week of weather and has created memories for my children to tell their children about...which was what I wanted after all!  I would say that I'm looking forwards to a taste of spring...but I'd be lying!  Weather extremes are my favourite type of weather...I wonder what Spring could bring?  Perhaps a "Pest from the West"!!!

Plenty of fog and low-cloud here today with the slight thaw underway, just above +1'c in Buxton this afternoon with temps forecast at a balmy +10'c tomorrow (just about reaching the March average.)

Just some patches of snow left around here, most of it has now vanished, different story near my brother's house higher up in Ashton under Lyne, Tameside. Still some impressive depths at the side of the road. Easily thigh deep in places.

Because its rain and possibly thunder, the rain will appear whereas the snow would die a death. Outside chance of a rumble maybe

Yes, some impressive radar returns heading our way. No sferics showing unfortunately.

Well the Beast from the East is over. For Chorley if that low hadn’t passed through Tuesday morning we wouldn’t have had any lying snow. In the end it was about 3cm.

The cold and wind was impressive however. It was a bit sickening watching most of the country get s good 5/6 inches. Missing out on the two sliders still irks me.

Drove up to peel tower, Haslingden Moor to have a walk in the snow before it all melted. Looking for spring now!

Just started to rain here. Hopefully it will thaw the drifts blocking my garden so I can get back to normal and not risking life and limb every time I set foot outside. Love snow but hate drifts!!

Nice temperature gradient with it being 10'c in Bristol and only 1'c in Leeds, light-rain here currently but the clouds are thinning enough for the sky to be turning a eery blood-red color to the SW. Bring on the Spring showers from now on :D
