Larger flakes mixing in now, and the wind is starting to pick up again!

Fizzled out here now in SE London

Gardens have about an inch after light snow on and off from 7am.

Alot of this is powder snow ( remarkable for 17th March) so blowing around in the gusts.

Still a few flakes falling.

Ah, that's coming up from the channel. Fingers crossed it stretches further north before it turns west.

I’ve just got back from the curry in Redhill... still snowing lightly in Reigate with merely the tiniest of dustings... good amber warning this!

Has anybody netweather radar decided not to show pink but blue??

im going to get out of my lovely warm bed and have a peak out the door(bedrooms on bottom floor? And see what’s going on. I’m right under a heavy blob coming up from France so I’m quite curious to see what happening outside

If that stuff from the south reaches this far east, I would expect whatever falls to land, have sheet ice outside now, unless it falls as rain that is. Although that wouldn't help the sheet ice problem considering temps in the lower atmosphere.

What happened to ‘Be patient’ & ‘The fun and games start after 9pm’? Has the weather fooled us yet again ?

Depth update. Hemel Hempstead very similar to Waltham Abbey....about 5cm. As at 11pm, snow is probably as heavy as it has been all day. Being blown off roofs and along pavements. Rural roads with large fields to the east may soon start to find drifts developing. Interesting that the amber warning area never included Hertfordshire nor the Chilterns and to the best of my knowledge was not modified to include them.

Didn’t you get any snow at all ? We got a cm which is more than what I thought we’d ever get after BFTE1

App on Android is still showing pink on precip setting, but I use V4 as it's got a better animation and responds quicker on mobile.

I'm slightly envious of those in the NE and N of the UK. We have had continuous snow here all day long but most has been tiny flakes blowing in the wind. We have around 6+ cms now but most has fallen since dark and the roads/paths are already melting.

Those up north have been battered with continuous heavy snow showers and there's plenty more left on the radar where as we are pretty much done down here. I do love a good heavy snow shower and they have decent depths too with more to come.

Well I braved it. It’s snowing quite hard nothing amazing but it’s nice that we’re in the blob area. It’s not laying tho only on cars and plants from what I can see

A bust I’m afraid a slushy deposit at best. Ah well roll on spring what a beautiful day it was Thursday gone only to be replaced by this cold meaningless muck ?
