Forget easterlies guys - they have not produced for us (cf rest of the country) - our region has fared very poorly.

Next year, look for sliders - that’s the future!!!

12 hours of snow and not even 1 cm I'm not happy, in fact I'm quite sad, next cold spell easter, any chance of these cold outbreaks lasting until june:unsure2:

Think the problem is the difference between using a mobile and pc/ tablet.... Very easy to forget to put location when on mobile if you normally use pc/ tablet

Holmbury St Mary

No its not just that. There are quite a few that have not put up a location on their profile at all, and also don't say where they are, or where they are visiting or traveled to. One or two also have the name of an obscure village but no "near to", or county mentioned. I have looked up quite a few of these place names on google maps, one place turned out to be in Suffolk, one in Sussex, really tiny places that no-one has heard of.

Sliders are sleet fests here though. Quite enjoyed watching 12 hours of snow yesterday, and today's little fall. Wonder when the next lot will come, a couple of weeks or next year.

Is it possible that the system in the channel could be sit further north this evening as we now have precipitation popping up across Kent?

Looks pretty good countrywide - there are always going to be some losers, especially when it’s not frontal snowfall involved. We got quite lucky yesterday evening with our 5 cms but could just have easily been you in sw London. If you are offering me a slider v a frigid beasterly then there is no question. The slider is generally quite a narrow band viz a viz the whole country. Look at the last 3 weeks - two beasterlies and the West Country fared as well as anywhere! That shows you a beasterly is a much better bet. Of course the best answer to everything is an early jan SSW with good strat/trop coupling!

Just to make the point people on mobiles are saying (not having a go at you!)....would be good if people could put something like

"starting to snow here in Swaffham now..."

You will be fine look at the top end stuff behind the main thing will head straight for you, with no upper warm front getting in the way this time.

Dont bank on it. Snowed fairly heavy here for half hr , temps at 0 c & still didnt settle..

During the last beast we had cold easterly for 4 days prior to snow which froze the ground solid before any precipitation.

This time we had sun & 14c the day before the mini beast ( was wrking outside in a t- shirt)

Was inpressed by how mch air temp dropped in 24hr period but ground temps didnt get the memo !!!
