why do we not see much snow in thanet, the little we had has almost gone now , I suppose it makes me appreciate it more when it does snow

Surrounded by the warmer sea on all sides so temp is always higher than areas to the west. I lived in Thanet for 20 yrs so appreciate how frustrating it is

Another decent covering for the chiltern hills...  This has been a very good season for snow round these parts.  Much more than usual.  Our best covering was in december but we have had a number of settling snow events since then.

Wow it's now building nice and heading right here, please don't be wet flakes again.

Stop it! You're getting me excited!!!

The temp has really dropped here in town. Managed 2.5 earlier its almost 0.0 now.

Theres a stream pretty much from the Thames all the way to Holland/Belgium border, so it could go on for a while. Whether its big flakes or small, who knows!!

many thanks for that, it does make sense seeing as we were called the isle of thanet also I suppose the elevation above sea level doesn't help

Think of a catapult .

The precip structure has one bit going south towards Paris , the bit that’s now cleared eastern Kent and another bit towards Belgium , the top bit is the elastic rubber . The bit in the middle is showing new echoes . You want the whole thing to fill in.

Thank you nick much appreciated :)

Continuous light-moderate snowfall has left a decent covering here, much better than last night!!

Mr Blobby's blob has arrived between Horsham and Worthing, but it's no longer just a blob - a blizzard, Thank you Mr Blobby.  It started as a small shower off Dover; now look at it. Quite a system of some sort.
