5cm of snow here in Reading - the half marathon has had to be cancelled for the first time in its history.

Whereabouts in Reading are you stargazer? Watching the radar last night j noticed that we were catching some the greens here just south of the M4 but they kept dissipating over Reading. We got about 8cm or so (difficult to tell because of wind, but that was lowest depth measured in back garden) here in Three Mile Cross.

Some serious radar returns now... Surprised to see that

Worth mentioning that the red/yellow returns on the north of the blob (currently) on the NW radar appear to be an error. If you run through the animation you can see them appearing intermittently in the same place.

Snowing here now in Hawkinge, reasonable sized flakes but so windy they’re not settling.

Mall inall had about 5cm on the grass here yesterday so not bad!

Now trying to land in this heavy green part, but I think snow just to wet, shame really.

Darker skies and heavier snow flurries verging on light snow in Far North East Essex. Unexpected.

according to the radar it doesn't look as though it will last to long though

Starting to settle now I think, won't stay long once it's stopped though.

We did really well here in Brighton last night , I was surprised at how much we got , it cleared from roads and pavements really quickly though but when I popped out earlier to clear the car there was a good 3inches , amazing for March

What does it do after, move west I assume. Wow never seen snow not even able to land on cars before just wet.

The blob is expected to move west and then more sw, some outputs have it intensifying further as it heads into the Channel.

I think it’s a case of wait and see what happens. After that still a chance of a few snow showers as some deeper upper cold moves back west.

That’s more likely in a 6 hour window after around 8 pm.

Theres not a great deal of instability left but given the flow direction the Thames Estuary might help fire up things a bit more.
