Yes,the GFS and met office are calling for some snow over the snow starved parts of Sussex (especially toward the South coast) after 5pm until midnight.

Last chance saloon for snowfall in the South.

The updated fax chart for midnight Monday clearly shows the cold front responible running East to West across Sussex

S J you raskle, how's tricks ,you might get some coming out of the low countries tonight ,and as you say there potential for the following night,

Good to see your still around bud,

E N W:)

Morning everyone

We got a dusting here in Haywards Heath West Sussex, 6mm to be exact ;)

As it is the weekend I was up for taking the family to the snow with our sledges, can anyone help and tell me which direction I need to travel to find better snow enough for sledging?

Not very scientific, but here’s the bin lid. For what it’s worth the snow was better for snowman ⛄️ building with the ‘Mini Beast’

No, the band over Belgium, heading towards the southern N.Sea/Channel.

Wouldn’t it be funny if the band crossing the Channel produces more than last night for coastal counties .

The fax chart does show a cold front in the Channel at 6 am tomorrow , it’s this which has moved west.

Lottie, keep an eye on that light "sneeuw/neige", about to leave the Belgian coast.

It may well be late afternoon evening before any real develoment affects the far South with that one (according to the met office anyway)

Just in case the first lot dicipates and we get another round of mass disappointment in here!!

Hey! Funny thing is I have been in SE London since yesterday at 7am and drove into a blizzard at Junction 3 on the M25.

Home is near Brighton now and I  have been watching  developments with interest down there from the snow fields of SE London.precoius little so far down there.

I' m driving back to Brighton  later, into another blizzard maybe ( more hope than expectation).and the SE coasts first decent snow from this cold spell.

The reason I flag all that is because during thunderstorm season I often seem stuck in the wrong part of SE England.

Some colder 850s do filter back in towards the se later this evening and into the early hours.

Currently the models aren’t interested in any convection after the band of precip clears but too early to rule out some lighter convection at that time.

The flow looks around ene so might the Thames Estuary help a little there.

Anyway it’s a case of nowcasting for the rest of the day.

EURO4 says no, but did so badly last night

I guess it will be a wait and see nothing special showing maybe 1-3cm more on top of anything laying I think the met are probs holding back for now

Can already see a little blob leaving the continent on radar, may be it's starting.

Nice to see people bit more level headed and calmer in here today.

Yesterday in here we witnessed flying goats, sledges, wellington boots, carrots, Lumps of coal the lot apart from snowballs

Some of our snow cover, on road/pavement, here in Lee SE12, seems to have evaporated, through sublimation, just like the other week. No sign of wetness. Still lies on grass, though.

Regards,

Tom.

A good snow event for March, that can't be denied. However i do feel short changed aome what!

It's ironic how we had an Easterly flow, with moisture and yet parts of the Midlands have far more snow than us! We sat under thick cloud and snow all day yesterday but it was so light it could have snowed for a year and you still wouldn't have had enough for a snowman!

Midlands north were battered with constant heavy showers which continued all night long and showers are somewhat more exciting than a few flakes in the wind for 15 hrs.

Anyway we've had the best winter for snow since around 2010, in terms of number of falls. We must of had 8-10 separate falls now, granted not all settled but snow still fell.

Ready for spring now please! :)

Probably a little snow this evening but I suspect probably a dusting for most, not too strong looking and pretty small coverage and quick moving. 1-2hrs of light-mod snow it seems at the moment IF it does make it. Far from certain.

It will be a nice bonus but I'd not expect much at all. Expectations need to be low IMO

Latest radar shows a few very light showers developing around the Thames estuary/Essex coast area.

Not likely to be anything but maybe a few flakes of snow possible.
