That's the effect of a good Italian lunch, puts the world into perspective

Hi Dubmuffin, sure does, whether that world is snowy or not.

Still a 'not' down here in Brighton.  Taking the dog out soon.  He seems keen to go clubbing and is at the moment applying some make up and costume so as to transform himself from a Cocker into something more suitable for a Saturday night in this city.

btw the warning stops at 9am thats 8 hours away is there something else brewing that we are missing

we are missing nothing . . . the Met Office appear to be missing their marbles having issued an extended Amber alert which has only effected 25 percent of its coverage . . .

Got a good coating here. A few cms . Main road pretty well covered. Difficult to tell depth as it is blowing about a bit and I'm indoors.

Hard luck for drivers wanting to use A131 between Little Waltham and Great Leighs  as it is closed for road works each night

Light snow here at the moment. Will the blob to the northeast move southwest??

That's a little aggressive.

Sorry, couldn't resist. :) How has Berkshire done? Seemed like everything that moved over me in north-west London intensified as it buggered off west!

Going to be honest here. I joined this forum after a long time lurking.

There is great resource on here, and you included.  But this is about weather, and right now, it’s snowing, mid March!! And we are having to wade through some petty tit for tat,  odd.

So back to the weather? I think more is too come overnight.

Really appreciate @TheSnowDreamer and the constant accurate forcasts for my part of the world.

Indeed, and the snow symbols have extended out until 11am tomorrow here.

What do we believe??

Also what are people's dream expectations for good snow event? Not for this period, but for me in Ramsgate it would be a foot of Snow, I'd kill for that ☺

Meto app says it's snowing now and will stop at about 5am in Dover, clearly wrong, for now anyway, we'll see what the south brings.

We've got a total of about an inch or just over here in Burnham but I fancy as Mr Sherman has mentioned more snow to the north of and west of the coastal areas of Essex. Seemed like the brightest echoes on the radar moved north west well out in the north sea from here and then south westwards into the mainland. Very windy here though.

Well that’s why I’m here. Things got out of hand and I want to forget that. I want to provide some useful insight here. Welcome!

Snowing heavily here for the last three hours but small flakes creating less than impressive accumulation. Pity as while out walking my dog around 5pm over in Royston (hills around the golf course) fluffy flakes dropped an inch in just over an hour.

Back to the sensible posters. How’s it looking across the region at the moment? We have light to moderate snow here

Stopped here at the moment.... Maybe a couple of cm max in Holmbury

Hoping... Hoping for something more.... The football was dismal let the snow make the evening complete....

It's forecast to..

Evening Chio - good luck tonight and tomorrow. 2 snow events in one season for the south... whatever is going on??!! Happy days.

All we need is a dramatic SSW like the one just past - but in early December next time..... :-)

I’m literally on the southern boundary of the snow band. Would be lovely to see a good cover tomorrow

Probably this or the last cold spell, but with it happening in January where the SSTs would be a good 5C higher and would have brought heavier snowfall for more locations. Alas blocking is more prevalent during late winter and into Spring than midwinter as the polar vortex loses its strength, especially if we see a SSW like this year.

A full day of sun and frequent, heavy snow showers. Those ones that give proper whiteout conditions. Rare as a hen's dentures in London sadly.
