Can anyone tell me if it’s worth me staying up here in Brighton ? It’s not doing anything as of yet , will it ? Or is it all north ? Thanks

I’m just thinking, look at the current Amber area, then look at the radar returns. Everything is further north.

Brighton isn’t looking great at the moment. Even where I am it’s looking north, and I’m in Berkshire

It’s a shame the cold didn’t move in earlier .

Looking at some of the temps today many parts could have recorded their latest ever ice day .

It’s not just about ice days though this late in March ??

A comparison of the recent situation and what the GFS, ARGEPE and HIRLAM were showing yesterday at 12Z

and the latest radar

They all got the snow over the SE too far south, but HIRLAM was closest (perhaps ARGEPE was best with extreme SE) and streets ahead on the streamer.

It's really strange looking at that radar we should be absolutely plastered here but all there is is a few flakes in the wind every half hour or so its bizarre . I could understand a blob being wrong.  But its showing all of Norfolk covered and nothing and its showing as intensifying with yellows but nada

Ok well the pics are half hour apart , there was footprints in snow and hadn’t settled on road , the 1st was taken half hour ago , the next 2 just now , notice no footprints and snow not settling readily on the road ❄️❄️ , whilst waiting to upload pics it’s now got a lot heavier and large flakes ❄️❄️❄️ .....

Have purposely not looked out of the window for about an hour now:fool:

But it was worth it! Nice covering on everything, bar a few patches of the cul-de-sac road and paths.

So far as expected.

Very dusty covering now, good start I’d say!

Not a lot happening here in Farnham, Surrey!

Feeling very cold though!  My snow symbols keep moving an hour later! (I know I shouldn’t look!) ?

3 Counties mate, apologies.

It’s ok, I call us the Home Counties as well. It gets a bit confusing.

Did anyone see the American television series ‘The Dome’?

Think that may have happened over us!  (Farnham)

Yes, we are in danger here now of becoming dry in SE London looking at the latest radar returns.

There seems to be a gradual pivet NW of the snow band.

Totally at odds with what I was expecting in terms of direction by now.

I've been ooop north today and got home about 2 hours ago (apparently it has been snowing here lightly most of the day).  When I got home it was snowing lightly but turned heavy about 6.00pm and has remained that way since.  All surfaces nicely covered, measured 5cm on the wife's car which hasn't been moved today.  All in all, excellent stuff.

Looks like those of us in North London/Home Counties could be in for an interesting evening.

Also, I was bloody frozen at football in Essex today!

How are your pavements saint. Considering the air temps have been hovering around zero max earlier and  been sub zero for the past few hours, surprised that the local pavements are resisting accums
