Loving the gap in the radar over sussex! jeez, whats new this winter eh.... so painful to experience....

West Sussex has to have been up there amongst the most snowless counties this winter ?

Bitterly cold wind when we popped out for takeaway on Ewell Road, with the same little flakes blowing around we have had all afternoon. Garden table and cars have a bit more icing sugar but I do hope a proper streamer sets up overnight.

Just got home to chessington and as you say a light sugar coating on the cars and it has began to settle on the grass , the snow is blowing about and the concrete ground is still predominantly dry .

That would be cool and wet in summer?

No, not with an easterly coming off the continent - dry sunny and even hot some times, though coastal areas could be afflicted by North Sea Stratus, early in the season.

We have semi blizzard conditions here on the North Downs, and even drifting snow.

Sitting between Box and Holmbury Hills I got a bit excited there... ohhhh, you mean the Kentish North Downs ??

My mother in law is babysitting the kids tonight whilst me and Mrs Plum go out for a curry with friends in Redhill. Mother in law has come prepared with an overnight bag in case she can’t get home (she lives a mile away! ?)

I do indeed, I drove back from Surrey this afternoon, and it went from predominantly green to white between Jnc 7 and Jnc 5 of the M25. I guess this stuff must be heading your way?

That’s not a road I would fancy driving in snowy conditions ?. Still quite light down in Dorking.

It was horrible in places, but the lanes were fine, probably due to tree cover.

It should be I don’t expect so. Properly snowing the sky looks thick of it.

I think I could do well out of this, but the original Amber warning is well off the mark ?

How so? Where should it be instead?

Think it looks spot on if I am honest if you look at the area of the PPN and the way its feeding in then I think so far so good.

Still a long way to go yet over 12 hours and lots to get through!
