Wow, this mass developing around East Anglia. Now, I think it’ll move south west, but that will put more of north London in the mix. The area will then move south west to my area. Maybe the Amber zone will move. It’s such a fluid situation.

my brother is in newcastle and he is in a blizzard at the moment:angry: meanwhile down sarf, we have the snow version of drizzle:angry:

I think the latest fax chart for 12z today is rather revealing, the streamer that was due to set up shop over us earlier never formed for whatever reason. Maybe this evening will be a bit better though.

It’s a shame the cold didn’t move in earlier .

Looking at some of the temps today many parts could have recorded their latest ever ice day .

Perhaps in with a strong shout for an ice day tomorrow looking at the charts.

Really picking up here now in SE13

Sticking on roads and pavements now under a gusty East Wind

Air temperature -2c

Absolutely zilch here, JJ. I have the feeling it's going to stay that way.:cray:

Snow stopping in 35 min.     Dark skies for us is having a laugh, how can it stop when it never started?

The definition that I found on the internet is what the temperature feels like. I got the weather data from the Thurrock Weather station website which is based in Tilbury.

Hmmm, so it's different to the windchill? - the temp for which you also give. Not your fault. Just seems a biz bizarre.

I'm under that green blob in east Anglia now and it's not even got 1 flakes coming down. Think its radar showing things that aren't there

Snow has pepped up a bit, quite small flakes though.

Well the green is definitely making it’s way to me (red dot ) and I can confirm that the snow has definitely intensified in the last 10/15 mins

I took this a little while ago and you can see everything is covered now.. The hard surfaces have a nice sugar coating now. The snow is still coming down.

Wind chill is seen as not very accurate in recent times, because it uses a complicated formula, and doesn't always take in to account other weather conditions. Apparent temperature is now seen as more accurate as it takes in to account the relative humidity.

Nice pics , just on the way home from Wimbledon, the snow is coming down quite hard now , the wind is strong and absolutely bitter, the snow is blowing about but sticking to any wet surfaces , we might wake up to some drifting snow in the morning.

all rds covered and pavement moderate snow darker blue on radar and looking fantastic might even see the amber warning shifted slightly north

Seems pretty light to me? It does look like theres a gradually trend to darker precipitation on the radar though.
Currently not really enough to warrant an amber warning but hopefully that'll change!
