The blob over Suffolk returns. Now this puzzles me. Is it a fake radar return or local forcing causing the intensification ?

Dunno but precipitation in the SE area is now circulating anticlockwise, over a wide area, around ... London.  Is London the temporary centre of a shallow low, which, earlier, was centred south of London?

Flakes getting marginally bigger in a gusty wind.

Now that would make things interesting.

Think the radar is showing snow that isn't there I'm right under that green blob over east Anglia and it's not even snowing yet the radar suggests heavy showers ??

I noticed that when I added the 300hpa wind vectors to the radar...

I have no idea of the potential or reasons but it looks interesting.

Current snowfall rate = 3 flakes per minute.

hopefully we’ll have a nice dusting if it carries on like this until 2099.

Has been light snizzle all afternoon but just a dusting from it. Hopefully we will get some heavier snow as the cloud moves in from the thames estuary

Home Counties seem to be in the firing line, still getting hammered here.

It’s a shame the cold didn’t move in earlier .

Looking at some of the temps today many parts could have recorded their latest ever ice day .

Be patient. Soon to be 3.26 flakes per min. Then.... bam!

Precip is strengthening over the west of the region as the forcing starts to increase from the east, small area over Surrey, stronger area between Slough and Reading. Remember 9pm is when things get real interesting!

Yes. We seem to have our own little streamer that's developed just to our East (I'm just south of Reading). Been light snizzle all day but bigger flakes and greater intensity now. Starting to get coverage on roads and paths.

For a minute there I though the flake-rate (SFR) might have exceeded the dizzy heights of 4-per-minute? Alas, it was not to be: back down to 1.78. Why do I bother!:good:
