This initial spell of snow tied in with the cold front was never supposed to produce masses of snowfall. It's later this afternoon when we start to see convection from the North Sea that's the interesting part, looking good for a Thames Streamer.

Unfortunately, this is only likely to cover a narrow area.

would that cover north west london

Snow stopped now here in Lee, SE12,as first band clears through and blob over E.Anglia, looks to affect, mainly N and a little, in the W, of our region. Liking the radar profile, of those showers, over N.Germany and off the N. coast of Holland, flow looks to be aligning, ENE/WSW, to me. From an IMBY opinion, hope that drops SW, and settles over, the Thames Estuary, later!!:)

Coming down quite heavy in Charlwood though the air has got colder and the flakes have got smaller.

Less likely, more of a east and south job, though there may well be a general area of snow forming that could give you some snow, maybe 2-5cms.

Looking at the met office output (I'm guessing its UKV upto 6hrs out given the resolution) it shows abit of a break after the front moves through then a Thames streamer startsto set-up from Essex around 2-3pm and works rapidly WSW through London, Surrey and into Hampshire.

Poised here mate...got about an inch on non concrete surfaces so far.

Think there is a good chance we will be,bmost high resolution models have something forming. UKV going with 2-3 being kick off time.

Near 2cms here on the Essex Riviera...really quite breezy as well. Just the odd flake swirling in the wind, so we're expecting a possible streamer this afternoon to be setting up?

Whom are you actually referring to as “idiots” I believe we are all here to enjoy what snow maybe coming our way ?

Ignore him...he called me a liar the other day referring to Helen Willets forecast.
