Which direction are we looking to for this afternoon and evenings snow?

The Suffolk Blob seems to be reluctant to get south of the A12 between M25 and Colchester, so remains to be seen whether it gets to London or slides to the north of London

-0.2c and snowing hard. Just been out with the dog and across an exposed field, it was brutal, strong winds and horizontal snow. Starting to settle on the roads and already got a similar amount of snow as the recent beast. If this goes on all day, then it could be epic

You’re not missing out as It seems the falling snow is washing away the lying snow now ?

Been snowing here (Sevenoaks) since 8am only a dusting on roofs etc pavements and roads clear. Why is this an amber warning as it's not really disruptive, are we due more heavy disruptive stuff later ?

Looking at the met office output (I'm guessing its UKV upto 6hrs out given the resolution) it shows abit of a break after the front moves through then a Thames streamer startsto set-up from Essex around 2-3pm and works rapidly WSW through London, Surrey and into Hampshire.

Eythorne nr Dover. Snow is still heavy but finer so I'm assuming do is dropping. Hoping it starts laying on the roads soon.

Things are actually moving faster than predicted.  This evening is now the main focus.

Not sure, if it's slower maybe it will last longer lol. However I think it's doing what is expected for now, we'll see what happens later.

This initial spell of snow tied in with the cold front was never supposed to produce masses of snowfall. It's later this afternoon when we start to see convection from the North Sea that's the interesting part, looking good for a Thames Streamer.

Unfortunately, this is only likely to cover a narrow area.
