Came here to join in with that disbelief. I'm so warm the heating is off and bedroom window open, it feels like an early April Fools' joke.
The weather stations in my town say a dew point of 6 or 7!

me ive my heating on, lol, hate being cold in my home, just find it so hard to believe we could get ny snow, i want to cut my grass and see my frogs um being happy :D

I want the freedom of leaving my house without a coat again! I do love snow, but I love sun too. I like proper seasons.
A year ago I photographed a wedding in Camber Sands and it seems crazy we were all running about the beach with no coats, including the bride. We were not remotely chilly!
However this is an interesting event... and Prince did sing that it sometimes snows in April! And I can't argue with him.

Really? I’m just down the road from you and it’s a steady 5.7c here. All local obs are in a similar ballpark too

Are you sure that Dp is correct Paget ?? Lowest in the Southern Half of the Country atm is 2.2c at Farnborough, if so very impressive and 2c lower than anywhere south of Newcastle

Even though HIRLAM looks OTT, 18z GFS has a similar theme of bringing some heavier snow NW out of the English Channel/ France Saturday night

HIRLAM is brilliant for London, APERGE not so good.

Guess it will come down to good old fashioned radar watching.

I don’t! I use a local weather station it’s been really accurate before but I suppose it would be wrong!

Could be right, I’m just surprised as the temperature here has levelled off for the time being at 5.7c

Ah ok, think their dewpoint reading might be a little skew wiff then

Lots of snow reports now appearing over the NE

give it a few more hours ~ 3-4am...

Luckily I’m drinking red bull with my vodka, so could well still be up at that time

Oddly temperatures on the rise here.  7.5C after hitting a “low” of 6.7C 30 minutes ago.

Can confirm the first sleet is now falling here in Hunstanton after light rain for half hour or so, feeling bitter out in that wind.. probably wasn't the best timing for a shop run!

I think this little cold snap might catch loads of people out. No one at my work was changing any plans they had for the weekend.

Just checked your local obs and it seems correct. I was just surprised as it was so much lower than here. Maybe we’ve had some cloud cover keeping temps up.

Down in Brighton for the weekend in the seafront flat.  Just been out with the dog.  Pretty mild still.  Accdg to local wundergrourd it's 7.1c, feels about right.  Back home in Reigate it's a slightly more chilly 5.6c.  Saw mention of very cold temps in Farnham, and Wunderground supports it being notably colder there:   https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=IENGLAND143

Here until Sunday or, if the snow on the route home is bad, Monday.
