Right... So it looks like a Saturday evening/night snow watch. This is screaming out for an alcohol assisted session to me.

What will be the tipple of choice for us SEers?

G&T is my favourite but my gin is gone so it’ll be amaretto and coke instead this time. Reminds me of Christmas, which might be appropriate if it’s snowing...

Probably time to set some realistic expectations (without some surprises cropping up which are currently unmodelled)

Certainly the risk of 2-5cms across the region, more especially around the estuary, with perhaps 10+cms over the downs.

If you want more than that, you need to hope the HIRLAM is correct

...Or Arome.  the 12z goes for 12cms or so over the Downs of North and East kent, at lower levels closer to 3-5cms.

http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/aromezoom.php?mode=45&x=5151.95&y=2597.08&ech=42&zoom=3.5

My expectation here in Dover is for up to 5cms and as little as 2cms  so a mean of 3-4cms.  the hills to my N and W will fare better - maybe 10cms at best?

I think I just witnessed the best meteor I have ever seen and I've seen a fair few

Came in from the north/east travelled to the west vivid White burning tail with the most bright green flashes I ever seen it just went of for ages! Maybe 2-3 seconds before dissappearing below the tree line

My word, literally took the air away from me I couldn't belive it.. I was looking down the garden for a fox that keeps getting in and whoosh..

Absolutely bloody amazing I hope someone else saw it and has a camera or something...

Wow! Lucky you got the chance to see it. I saw one last year. It even got mentioned on the news as it was so unusually bright.  Happened around 11 pm at night.

Evening all!

We are making a dash to pick our daughter up from Uni, we were going tomorrow but what to do it before the snow strikes!!

We are travelling from Farnham to Norwich, a long journey but seeing the weather change as we are driving is fascinating!  Just gone through a very small area of heavy rain near Watford with amazing sky and loads of rainbows! ?

It’s a never ending drive there from down here and you are even further !  My eldest daughter is in her second year history there (loves it) though she is currently doing a few months in Madrid - whatever happened to a normal degree !

I'm sad. I'm near the south coast and have started to radar watch. Hope the thin front gets fatter.
