What a glorious day it was today. Nearly had to take my jacket off out on delivery, ended up just unzipping it as I didn't want to look totally crazy like my colleagues who are still wearing shorts. Even made time to chat to some of my customers out in the sunshine. Can't believe how much its going to change in less then 12 hours. Tomorrow should make an interesting day at work and travelling home :)

Weird isn't it, drove up to the supermarket earlier and the car was so warm I had to put the aircon on for the first time this year, strange to think temps will struggle to get above freezing tomorrow and we could have snow on the ground.

Erith SE London/Kent borders.

Looking good for most of us, surely nothing can go wrong now?????

I think it should be ok.

I'm based in Crawley and it has been looking good all day. It says light snow all day tomorrow  and night with heavy snow around the evening tomorrow.

Yep I see that for here too, it was more the hirlam model showing the heavier stuff further north west

Is this quite recent? Tv or met office not showing this although I know that’s not great reliability for this

MetO are not forecasting this. FMI HIRLAM has projected this which is very interesting

We won't know what will happen where on this one until it happens,  apart from the initial front heading east tonight. Models always struggle with both the possibility of streamers, and low formation. So it's radar watching for those parts of this weekends weather.

A tiny sharp cell has popped up over eastern canvey, I can see it here in the sky and it's pretty much stalled, giving a dumping of rain and intensifying at the minute still. Lets hope it moves as canvey is prone to localised flooding

HIRLAM has pulled back away from the extreme set-up it had on the 06z run, but still a solid amount. GFS is decent enough and the other models are broadly unchanged as well. High chance of some snow, lower chance of something real disruptive, but still there.

Some hefty showers being produced across East London at the moment. The cloud formations from a distance are pretty amazing. Is there enough instability for some thunderstorms before the drop in temperature?

Is this the extra band of PPN showing up on Arpege for early on Monday?

By Sunday morning 1-3cm for most of us I feel, perhaps 5-7cm in lucky spots.

Accumulations going to be a struggle if the sun comes out during the day.

So hopefully enough to turn everything white for a while. But disruptive snow I just cannot see. If there is disruptive snow, it will be very localised and not for long.

It doesn't look like a streamer, I wonder if a secondary wave feature is forming behind the low, what does the pressure chart for that time frame look like?

It doesn't take much! As soon as it starts falling some people think it's the end of the world :wallbash:

True.

Can see a lot of toys being thrown around next 48hrs though.

This has all the hallmarks of 0cm in one spot and 10cm less than 5 miles away.

I have already resigned myself to temporary coverings/polystyrene balls here on the Essex coast, just got that feeling. SO my toys will stay locked away, whilst further down the Thames gets a nice covering.

Arpege's showing ppn along the south on Monday.. So maybe another chance of snow on Monday for some of us further south.

Low cloud moving in from the east now, so at the moment we have haar moving in because of warm air aloft moving over the cold north sea and by tomorrow we will have the opposite with convection due to very cold air aloft passing over relatively warm waters.

Another fast developing cell in eastern london now approaching west ham / stratford, maybe produce a boom

My home desk window faces east so a quick glance NE and I can see the cells developing. The heat of London is certainly having an effect.
