In no particular order for me the best cold spell since turn of new century, seen more snow in 2009 but it didnt persist like this. The cold was incredible -3.8C at 2:30 in centre of London - compacted snow and ice in city centre for days, truly surreal. Short and sweet you could say, I had every day from Monday to yesterday, moderate/heavy snowfall it was magical.

Just want to thank Ed and 80s for preventing me from going into full blown panic because the bath wouldn't drain, i'm guessing the hot water on the pipe didn't work because it was snowing a lot at the time so presumably it just froze straight away. It is now draining again so i guess there must be a thaw setting in, although you wouldn't know it to look at the snow remaining in the street. The bath thing was the sort of thing Southernman would have known about, I am learning but its difficut to learn all these new things.I bet he was watching and saying "daft mare, its due to the pipes freezing!".:)

Snow all but gone in Hastings now apart from some patches in colder areas where no sunlight had reached.

Off to Latvia to visit partner's family over Easter. We had 8 to 10 inches from 19th to 26th December when we went. Often the case that there is snow around end of March into April so I shall be looking at models for eastern Europe in a couple of weeks to know to pack my thermals or not :cold:

Rain finishing off what's left after the thaw. Got some unexpected snow about 10pm last night which was a nice finish.

Bring on some warmth.

Temperature has fallen to 0.2c here in Norwich. Melted slush may well freeze over tonight.

The warm temps only seem to have made it to the far south of England.

All the snow has gone from here, it was rather nice out in the sun earlier too. Ready for spring now, let’s have a nice long hot summer too.

Well that's the end of the cold spell. Pretty good, not brilliant but more interestingly shows that we can still get very cold weather and snow, and if things had have been more synoptically favorable,it could have been epic.

The snow in central London was amazing though.

Next few weeks not without interest either, certainly wont be boring anyway.
