The thaw is under way for now.

Looking at the models, looks like a similar set up to last  night.

Will be expecting a little bit of snow late evening and overnight, mostly dandruff with a few heavier bursts mixed in for good measure, but not amounting to much overall.

Most of the good stuff staying Brighton eastwards.

As for Thursday, doesn't look like much here again but we will have to wait and see. Will be looking forward to sampling such a strong bitter wind though.

Probably a good couple of cm on the ground now and sky clearing ready for the next shower. That line of bright red in the Wash looks like it may just slip south of my location, as I'm towards the north end of Peterborough.

There is a lot more convection/showers in the north sea than last night, probably because of the colder air flow, couldn't these heavier showers hold themselves together better for those of us in the drier regions of the last 2 days

It’s going to need a change in wind direction for these showers to move in towards London, W Essex, Herts etc.

Looks like it might be another late one, but worth it this time possibly?!?!

Here are radar shots from last night at 8pm and tonight at 8pm:

There is a lot more ppn to the West of the Dutch coast on tonight's, plus with favourable winds, there could be some nice shower activity for our region in a few hours.

Looks like the north of the region will be getting more tonight.

My weather sensor in the garden is reading -7c. Does this sound realistic  (based in North Herts and Essex). I do have mostly clear sky.

Yep, sounds about right.  I'm measuring -6.5c currently. I suspect the temperature will start to rise soon as the winds pick up.
