I think they are covering themselves. Can’t see anything hitting us unless I’m missing something?

It's meant to develop over Southern counties and the channel during the late morning and early afternoon and slowly migrate northwards as an organised (but fairly weak) front over late afternoon and early evening. Don't waste your time looking out for organised fronts moving up from France - if the warning and latest model updates are to be believed, it will almost develop upon us. (Please also don't expect inches and inches. 3-6cms would be the uppermost limit I imagine).

To those in Anglia worrying about lack of radar activity - don't worry.

Dan Holley has posted this useful map as a guide. Snow expected later in the day, western areas more at risk of heavier snow.

'However'!!.

The beauty of such scenarios as this are-as the cheif forecaster states the uncertainty..ie accums-track and stall.

Although unlikely i have seen such situs give a lot of ground accumulations at very short notice.

A definate nowcast situ into this afternoon!!!

Timing critical for this?

If Amber warning given could for those areas during rush hour as amounts not hugely significant but during rush hour could lead to disruption

I don’t think they will go amber for 4/6 cms in a nowcasting situation where the snow will be happening by the time the message is getting out

Everyone knows there is snow about later today

Anyone want to take a punt at which way it's moving? Looks quite NW

Looks NW to me.

I'd be happy with a few CM's. It's been snowing a lot here the last couple of days, but it's just been very fine and we only have a couple of CM's :nonono:

Woe, woe and thrice times woe - Occasional rain drops are now appearing on my windows, though it is still -1C.  Does not appear to be that much on the radar either.

A short sweet interlude of ice days with powder snow and sunshine.

Sun's out, the icicles are dripping!

No sun down here, but everything just seems on the cusp, regarding any thaw.

Just a wee thought: should March start with 4 (or maybe even 5, at a stretch) consecutive snow-days, the month will better any of the past five entire winter seasons - including the one just gone!:santa-emoji:
