Morning peeps...

There was a MetO (?) person on LBC, a while back, saying that next week will be dominated by freezing-fog and ice...lo and behold, I can't find any suggestion of this scenario on here. Though, with about 100 posts being made each minute, it's a wonder I can find anything at all!:D

well light ppn here, blowing around, its really trying to do something, even though ive not had significant snow, ive still a very good covering, nothings melted, roads, garden etc still has a thick covering, ive have enjoyed the ride, better then the roller coaster of previous yrs,  the ups and the downs we have endured on here , its nice to know other people are enduring the same thing, if you get what i mean :), still we have today, to see what happens, plus dont forget we have still had great snow cover in April before, thats why i could never live anywhere else, our weather, is full of surprises :shok:

Up here we are still being warned not to go out, roads blocked etc, public transport cancelled, i'm watching people slipping about outside which is not nice to see. Thats always the problem when the ice freezes. Baby bird is growing some baby feathers now which is good.

lots of Kent peeps having freezing rain, if anyone in Essex gets it can they holler, I must drive between 12.45 - 2.30 so a heads up would be good.

Looks like our last chance for snow later today and into this evening before we can call time on this cold spell. Incredible period of weather and to think we were so close to replicating some of the epic scenes up in Scotland! Temp: -1.6 dew -4.6

Local met office forecast has updated to show heavy snow from 3 until 11 tonight. It's also showing heavy snow for London between 12 and 9. It's been fairly accurate on the day this week. I am a bit sceptical this time so just a case of wait and see.

Doesn't look particularly noteworthy, probably best not to get your hopes up!

Depends because even light snowfall can give decent amounts if the band of snow is very slow moving. Also conditions in the N of this region are much more favourable compared to the S.

Met-o latest are firming on 'perhaps' a more notable band of snow for the region- lunchtime into this evening..

I note cheif forecaster 'notes' major uncertainty on depths etc...

But confidence seems to be growing.

One to watch!!!

London northwards look fine-dews/bulbs etc.

And yes even lighter falls become notable if the feature is slow moving.

Although talk begining for perhaps heavier falls...

Looks like the Meto seem to be going with another 2-5cm later this afternoon into tonight on their latest warning.

I’d say Luton Northwards is within a real shot of seeing one decent last snowfall from this spell.

@TEITS chart above illustrates that well.

Yes, hoping to get an extra couple of cms here in NW London before the thaw starts tomorrow.

Will then be looking forward to some warmer temps!

Looking at the radar, where is this afternoon's possible snow supposed to move in from? Doesn't appear to be much showing up.

went out for a walk with bubs, must of had some heavier stuff over night as there's a good few cm extra, the roads are quite icy and one half of the village is supposedly hard to pass due to drifts. Not so cold either.

It's currently doing a light flurry.

Oh and i didn't get a lay in, bubs up at 6am asking to go outside.

Pleased to see the Euro 4 has finally agreed with the other models and moves the band of snow further N.

Tricky part of the forecast is the front will become very slow moving across the N of this region with the band of snow slowly weakening. How heavy will the snow will be and how far N will the front get before becoming almost stationary is impossible to tell.

I hope this proves correct. My phone app for St Neots says snow from 3pm today right through til 10am tomorrow! Yeah right. I wish. Looking at the radar I can’t see it snowing at all. Do you think it will pep up or continue to fragment  and weaken ?

Definitely some convection firing up now in the North Sea just SE of here. Looks promising...
