My dad lives in Bude, Cornwall, just texted me to say it’s just started snowing. I think he’s in for a whole heap of the white stuff. Not sure it’s gonna make it this Far East, but frankly, I’m looking forward to it all going now, it’s just solid ice now and that’s no fun.

Touch and go imho. Right on the edge. If it could move just 20 miles east we are right in it. Anyone else agree?

Trust me I’m in it, almost a blizzard here at the moment.

Anyone else got that Boxing Day feeling? We're now in the cold spell equivalent of cold turkey sandwiches and watching Ben Hur waiting for the in-laws to pee off  :santa-emoji:

I have to say the BBC have been absolutely useless with their forecasts. We was meant to be missing all the snow today but in all honestly it hasn’t stopped. Easy 100mm and counting in strong winds.

Nice imagery, but no. I'm at work, and that doesn't literally, work.

Given up with their graphics.

Cloud looks like snow & snow looks like cloud. Pftb.

I think today must have been much colder because none of the snow has melted during today, its as deep this afternoon as it was first thing this morning with n new snowfalls.

I think it's going to miss our area completely, maybe a few flakes for the far west of the region. It's a shame I would to experience something like that but oh well, Mother Nature will do what she pleases.

Anther death and another 19 vehicle crash up north. I love the snow but i'm well aware of the issues that come with it, so i'm worried about these in the south west tonight.

This cold spell won't be the longest, but it has been one of the coldest I can remember. Plus some really good snowfall.

Now that we are losing the really cold uppers, I'd be happy enough to see some Spring warmth appear over the next week or two. Moving forward, even if it stays "cold" with uppers of -4c/-5c, that won't really be good enough for snow at this time of year so all we'd get is cold rain/sleet or very marginal events. Not something I think many of us would want.

Our region should be looking at the area of snow south east of the main band...

With these warming uppers could that be rain for this region

'Warming' is to be taken with a pinch of salt I think. Warm compared to the very low temp uppers we've had but not warm enough for rain...just yet...

Hello number23,

For a minute I thought you meant Boxing Day 1962.

Kind Regards

Dave

One of my neighbours has been snow ploughing since 6am, a lot of people have to use B and minors roads round here. As fast as he clears it and moves on he's back at square one about 2hrs later as more drifts off the fields.

Really wasn’t expecting this constant snowfall today. Seems ppn intensifying over northern Home Counties as system moves into the SW.
