Although radar still looks ok drier air coming in now - convection/showers will likely start to fizzle, worst of todays snow has most likely passed.

Think another streamer was expected this evening for our area

Can see on this pic the back end of the moisture plume running across Germany, when that feed runs out it will be the end of the shower trains across our region.

Just need those narrow streamers to level out so they are running directly east to west! To be honest I’ll be just happy with cloud right now as it’s a battle of snow v sun and the sun is inevitably starting to win!

I have not looked on the MOD thread and I feel better for it.  However, it means I have no idea as to whether there is an end in sight for this cold, snowy period now.  The forecast on my phone's app suggest that by Saturday/Sunday - the temps will rise??

Thanks.

Look East now forecasting 9C for Sunday!:shok:

Total poo isnt it, thats its ending so quick, was hoping as per many of 10/14  days plus once the snow had arrived

To back up Look Eats one of the dutch weather centers is forcasting 7c plus from sat for 10 days, which I really dont believe.

Not overly convinced as the showers seem to be breaking up really easily when they get near the coast :/ Not sure why!

Just had the best crazy snow storm of the week nr Cambs - threw down a good couple of CM's of fresh snow :D Anther one incoming before the quiet period begins I suspect

Making the most of this as Fridays chances of a decent dump seem to be going down the swanny!

See my post @geg1992 were running out of moisture in the plume to our East, also the upper trough is sliding North out of our region now, that takes us back to where we were before with just a bitty showery regime until the moisture is gone.

Was amazing though wasn't it, didn't imagine yesterday when i spoke to you that it would be quite that good:yahoo:

Dan Holley's latest thoughts on tomorrow's possible snow (not including Friday). His updates earlier this week were fairly accurate for this area.

But still a lot of uncertainty, will probably be a just wait and see scenario!

If Storm Emma weakens and slips southwards and misses Britain and Ireland.....you won't be seeing temperatures between 5-9C on Sunday in East Anglia lol

Thats what I wish for, however I think  we will need to do a lot of snow dances for it to happen.

Is the storm coming up from the SW going to affect our area with regards to precipitation?

Latest charts show it fizzling out quite a bit with every run.... not looking that likely to give us much decent at the moment

So looks like we are seeing the last few showers of this cold spell this afternoon, it’s been great I must say and it seems most people saw something falling from the sky even though we were scuppered an epic spell by that shortwave in the North Sea at the beginning. A great way to sign off winter!
