The showers moving into east Anglia have a lot more strength to them and the ppn conveyor from the Dutch Coast is beginning to fire up again: https://www.buienradar.nl/wereldwijd/europa/zoom/actueel?lat=51.31&lon=0.252

Everything to the east of us in Essex at the moment.  Not even Southend look in the game at moment, let alone Rayleigh.   Kent doing well again. Hope the winds shift soon.

Been a great two weeks watching this unfold in the models. To date, the event itself is a little disappointing (for me) although some have done really well with several inches.  However, with a little more luck, several inches could have been par with some getting a foot plus.

i can't complain.  Two snow events this winter, 9cm in December and 4cm today.  I'd have taken that last October.  Or have my standards dropped ?

been rubbish here Swave during this cold snap. Was hoping for at least something on Thursday/Friday but even that seems to be getting downgraded

yes snowman but not sure why Thursday and Friday should be getting downgraded yet, its still 3 days till Friday and a low pressure can do strange things with no jet stream to steer it

Looks like north Norfolk coast could do well in the first part of the evening. Been tracking those showers coming in on a NNE they seem to fading as they come inland probably due to the slack flow. Hoping for that wind direction change to more of an Easterly after midnight to drag some of that convection off the North Sea.

Got home at 5pm to nothing and turned into a white out at 5.30pm.

Now who would you trust?

It looks like Stanhoe is about to get a nice clump of showers looking at the latest radar. ;)

We just need the wind to swing more to an Easterly for us to get the ppn to beef-up. It looks like midnight is the time it will swing into a better direction for us:

I've got a feeling that the MetOffice might upgrade our region for the overnight period looking at the Dutch radar: https://www.buienradar.nl/wereldwijd/europa/zoom/actueel?lat=51.31&lon=0.252 There is a lot more ppn and seemingly heavier, that is lining up.

It looks more promising than things did last night to me.

Looks like it might be another late one, but worth it this time possibly?!?!

Here are radar shots from last night at 8pm and tonight at 8pm:

There is a lot more ppn to the West of the Dutch coast on tonight's, plus with favourable winds, there could be some nice shower activity for our region in a few hours.

FInally the next load of showers have arrived here, quite a train of them so maybe a chance of a covering tonight perhaps?

Finally! My thoughts for tomorrow and backed up by the Euro 4, Arpege but most importantly my guru weather mate, should get a covering, prob early doors until lunch.

Happier now :-)

EDIT:

Arpege

I best not post the Euro but similar.

Some strong echoes coming from The Wash now, Peterborough could do very well!

i don't understand why they cancelled all the trains today but they say they will all run tomorrow even though it looks like there may be as much snow.

Isobars-noting-wind flow better aligned this evening for decent inflow..should be some better westwards transfer as the atomsphere becomes more convective..

And the shower activity begins to gain out east.

Also note those current windchill factors...

A bit nippy!!!

They got caught out by the MetOffice/Meteociel forecasts and they haven't considered that tonight looks more disruptive (with the ice and possible snow covering) than they did last night. It is an ice rink out there, so it will be mayhem tomorrow morning by the looks of things.
