Looking out towards the mouth of the Thames, the Cumulus are starting to tower up now. All good signs.

Had a very slight dusting here in Chelmsford.

Cloud has fragmented somewhat over  the last 20 minutes and what has fallen is so powdery it's floating about in the breeze.

haven't seen snow this powdery in a fair while, almost like cotton wool!

Edit just been out for a vape and I can confirm it is cold enough for snow lol. Turned my coffee cold and the cat has sacked off his morning patrol.

yep, not likely to hit us, but there's going to be some lucky recipients of this particular cell further up the Thames . . .

Convection has kicked off more widely in the region with bands of showers rather than one or two streamers. This should give the whole region a good snowfall

:oops:Lived near Nottingham until early 2013 so I was fairly lucky with some of the larger events like 2010! Being where I am along the coast now though I think I do benefit more from snow showers that catch me as they head into The Wash.. which explains 4 days of falling snow this year, hopefully by the end of the day i'll be able to tick off a day of lying snow too.

Moderate to heavy snow here unespected

Looks like shower activity starting to pep up on the radar? You're under the same blob as me can see it rolling in as I type.

Sunshine in Norwich now, a few clouds around but looking to the east there is a huge bank of cloud but its not moving inland, more tracking along the coast. Hmmm......

Temp was about -1.4c so windchill is going to knock that feeling down even further.

Now we've lost that South London bunch, can I finally admit that the best pie and mash shop in London is on their side of the river?

Go on then. Which shop?

Pretty cool in Warley as I walked to the station this morning, actually came down quite hard, so I’m going to make plans to leave work early, typically there will be nowt at the office when I get there and a blooming foot of it back home.

Sugar dusting here, and looks as though those of us in NW London (and other areas) will continue to see light to moderate snow showers through the rest of this morning. Nice surprise.

Wrt Thursday / Friday. Most models give us a period of snow, some turning to freeing rain/ sleet for time. All agree on it turning 'milder', or less cold but still cold, over the weekend.

Hope the curse of the Polystyrene Balls does not affect the Coasts A la 2009 - Seems to be big fluffy flakes further inland with no problem settling

Don't say that Paul, shouldn't be a problem this time around. Some big towers going up ENE of me...it's only a matter of time....
