For once I am hoping that it does not snow.  Taking my daughter to an interview in Oxford, due back late afternoon. Light dusting of snow currently in Chelmsford.

I do wonder what wind direction would produce a reasonable fall of snow for this area - over the past few years they've pretty much all failed!

Anyone know what the conditions are like in the Chelmsford area?

I woke to snow in South Woodham, as I had hope. It looks like it hadn't long started, quite different snow to the last time. it does look powdery and small.

The radar looking promising for this stage of the day with fairly widespread light snow. Forecasts suggest this will become heavier this afternoon, with the Look East presenter suggesting it "could become troublesome". Radar at 06.50:

And here's an update on the forecast snowfall accumulations by mid-night Tues from a few of the High Res models Arpege, Hirlam and NMM:

BBC forecast now - amber warning for N, NE, Midlands and SE on Tuesday. Not the East. Same for Wednesday (even including the SW) and looking at Friday will probably miss Norfolk as well. Dear oh dear.

A few snow flakes dancing past the window now.

I wish they would stop dancing and get there act together. Eyes are hurting from squinting to see dandruff sized snow
