You made me freak the hell out earlier when you said it was over for ashford

Wrong you were ?

Not far from you in rye. Knew I should of stayed in Ashford longer tonight. Hopefully it will push this way

for anyone worrying and looking at the radar thinking this is not going to happen, as @Steve Murr has pointed out, the convergence doesnt happen til around 9, the main event is due to start around midnight and the amber warning is from 2am until 12 tomorrow.

The Convergence line might change orientation overnight and maybe that's the reason for the expansion West and southwest - seen Cz's move a lot on the US

Yeah if you look on the surface pressure charts you can see the the winds swing more easterly later on

would appear that medway to Orpington is the Eastern limit. Hit and miss here even when under a pink blob.

Temp -1.6C

DP -7.9C

Wind is Northerly too ?

Evening all,

Moderate snow falling here in Westcliff (the Essex one), my chances of getting to Gatwick by 5am tomorrow just took a bit of a hit, but looking good out there.  How is the Crawley/Gatwick/Reigate area doing at the moment?

Cheers

Currently dry. But well within the extended amber zone. That warning is from 2:00am to midday. Nick Sussex is correct, weather doesn't follow warnings but a late extension west of that should inspire some confidence. Reigate and Gatwick two very different locations topographically though!

Anyway, here's the link to Gatwick TAF, currently forecasting 40% heavy snow showers 21:00 this evening to 12:00 Tuesday. Was very accurate through the day today:

I love instantly settling snow.

The individual snow flakes from an hour ago are still sitting on top of the cars, now being added to in this current heavy snow shower!

I said the opposite. I said winds are staying NE with showers moving SW while the convergence zone is being pushed further south than previously forecast.

Slight misunderstanding haha!!! ?

Instead of north Kent, estuary etc. all is going to be more SE.

Sorry mustve been someone else

In facr now im sure it was sorry i willnget my coat

Snowing heavily now in Rochester, already a slight dusting on the roads. It's a strange type of snow this powdery stuff isn't it - it's like someone has spilt a massive bag of icing sugar right down our cul-de-sac!

Good luck all. It's looking good! :)

I’m directly north of you.

We may see something from the development around the wash.
