Yes Steve just started to come down heavy on top of the 4 half inches we already had hopefully we will get a good dumping.

Been a few showers lined up  through the bay into Greatstone since just before sunset, nothing too prolonged or heavy but with a temperature of -2c it's all turned white again

This looks like a classic Kent Dangler, clips the Suffolk Coast then 10 miles offshore from the Essex Coast and down through Mid Kent and out to sea east of Brighton

Its very hard to call this one but after looking at the models I kind of see what is happening I think... LOL

The winds will kind of "lift out" during the course of the night and tomorrow.. So currently a NNE slowly turning right round to a SE which also shuts off the shower switch tomorrow because there is no "fetch" of water and the winds will be straight from the continent what it does mean though is the windchill goes up and the temp goes down!

The higher RES models suggest that any associated PPN will lift out with it.. By tomorrow early morning the winds will have veered enough to close down the shower machine..

Anything flowing down the East coast will kind of do what it it did this morning I think just that for a lucky few there are a couple of things that will "enhance" any PPN

The NMM as I posted earlier shows it really well, Note through early hours of the morning as the flow does begin to change it is full of kinks and little shower enhancing powers

Agree, must admit never even saw that 2nd dangler further to your east. Its all about luck in these situations, who is to say convection wont fire to your immediate North East and train over your location all night, at least you are in the game so to speak

Lol yep like the Pembrokeshire Dangler (Thats a real term) from North to South.

The summer one from France is a Kent Clipper

I guess Surrey is out of the running for the next couple of days?

This is what I want to know too!

there are three distinct possibilities according to my research:

1• Very very likely we will have several prolonged snow showers

2• Highly probable that the showers do not make it into Surrey at all but veer South into Brighton

3• Another night with no snow whatsoever, but we get treated by the press as if we did  actually get snow, and eventually I switch off the local radio in disgust - and spend the rest of the day picking my nose at work
