Hehe, a lot of people hibernate in winter. Do you play football every week? Who do you play for?

Grow a mixture of fruit and vegetables on the plot, tend to grow stuff that’s more expensive in the shops, like tender stem broccoli, cherry tomatoes, apricots and then all the rest is stuff is stuff I love to eat

I love my fruits and veg.. That's really good though and I bet it keeps you fit too?

I play for a vets team on Saturdays..

At home. Lots of newts here.  Yes, cold kills slugs. I reckon i got bitten by a false widow spider 2 years ago. Talk about painful.

Do newts eat garden pests? I suppose they like moisture? Did you see the spider that bit you? So many in this area, they’re very efficient killers but scary as fcuk. What do you grow?

Yes, it’s hard work, get a short rest in December and January, then the work starts again. Definitely keeps you fit, I’d recommend it. I bet the football does too?

Whaaat? I can’t deal with any more radar watching. I literally feel like I close my eyes at night, and all I see is pink blobs.

Brilliant , simply brilliant. Lovely words and pics ?

And while we all wax lyrical in here, every car in my street has a swear word or penis etched on it in the snow as someone has enjoyed the cold spell in their own particular way... ah well....

Well, two hours ago it said sleet... Temp has dropped off considerably in the last 45 mins and clouds looking very heavy again. I've lived here for 18 years and this is entirely possible...

1.7c and still rising with plenty of dripping outside. It been an interesting week, definitely the best cold spell since 2010 for me but nowhere near as impressive as 78/79, the snowy winters of the 1980s, or Feb 1991.

Being it was going to be the last day of the cold spell today I went down to the beach when it was still snowing this afternoon just to take in the scene as who knows, it might another decade before I see snow on the beach at Greatstone again. In the first picture the snow was being blown up the beach and piling up in the dunes, couldn't stay there long with east wind straight off the sea. The second picture goes all the way back to 1987 showing my garden in Higham after many hours of continuous snow. Now that was my favourite cold spell :)

Really looking forward to spring now although I have a feeling it's only going to warm up slowly this year.

Been walking the puppy for its late night walk.

Across the road is gunners park which is normally pitch black.

Apart from when it snows and its like the daytime, the beauty of snow.

Also couple of houses with wood burners, so you can just imagine the smell of wood smoke and the crunching underfoot makes you think you were back in the Alps.
I really miss the ambiance and sound that snow makes.

Now THAT would be a proper way to end the week...

Got work tomo and they want me on site in Piccadilly at 7:30am - if there ever was a good time for snow this week it’s right now! ?

This cold spell has reaffirmed my thoughts. Sounds great at first, snow everywhere, chaos. Until you have to go outside. Especially towards the end where it goes slushy. I am now on the lookout for some warmer temps. Not crazy mid 20's stuff but a good firm 12-17 degrees with single digit lows for sleeping.
