Propper powder snow here and heavy, I can't believe it. Settling everywhere on the old stuff and filling any bald patches too.:D

I should go and stand under it without my hat...

Yep, that’s heading towards us, so enjoy the snow while it lasts.

Interesting to note the back edge seems to have slowed right down, some models did suggest the system may grind to a halt and that maybe is what happening.

Still lightly snowing here but that is good news for you guys further north.

Good observation. Hope it happens.

If that is the case then do you think heavier stuff will just be delayed for some of us? I’m in Southend, only a moderate fall of snow pellets at the moment really. Hoping that into the evening it might get heavier, more persistent and bigger flakes.

Been watching the radar.....seems to build up once its gone past us, but isnt building up before us....yet anyway!

Bexleyheath line now suspended too.... not looking good for the Friday evening rush hour if you are a Southeastern passenger.

EDIT: sorry, that's trains from Bexleyheath to London - coming out of London the line is still open.

Ok then that's it for us I assume, I hope we will get sudden stratospheric warming again next winter, so we can get unsual cold again :)) but more precipitation pls, it wasn't that good precipitation-wise

Nice way to finish the cold spell here with some prolonged moderate snow in Haywards Heath adding another cm or so and making everything briefly white again!

Would be good. Only snowing very lightly here now - hopefully there'll be a few more intense bursts. From the reports on here it seems that the best area today is mid Surrey. Anyway I'm off to take the dog for one last 'snowing' walk.

It could be mine is not heavy as what you would think, but it sort of happens in bursts heavy then fine snow then heavy again

I wasn't doubting you what's so ever...if anything I was trying to prove (which you backed up) my little old place seems to miss the best bits.. But we can't moan about this.. Its been cracking... Coupled with these forums it's  is the best... Seems we just slipped in(forgive the pun) before spring.. Or the stronger sun.. This time of year it takes special synoptics for this this to happen..and it did.. More or less.. Literally :-)
