Whoever was talking about Heathrow, there is heavier snow about to move into the area and that will very likely trigger some delays I'dhave thought.

Anyway as I expected, back side of the front intensified as it hit land.

I'm probably going to have another 60-90 mins of light, then moderate snow before it finally all clears to the north after nearly 36hrs of trying to push north.

Let's hope you're wrong and that it is moderate/heavy and lasts another 3 hours - would be a very nice way for this freezing spell to finish.

At the Heathrow waiting to get on my flight but not the one I booked originally. The lady at check in said that the plane may need de-icing - it would be amazing to see that happen! No windows where I am - anyone near Heathrow - is there any snow nearby?

The OAT at LHR is -1 deg. C in light rain and snow. If there is any freezing or frozen precipitation on your aircraft (hard to imagine there won't be under those conditions) it will need de-/anti-icing prior to departure...

Yeah it would be, but personally considering how some people have fared just 20-30 miles east of here, I'm pretty content with the snow that is on the ground already, so anything more now is kind of a bonus really!

Great showing. The finest snow I've ever seen, tiny tiny flakes. Must still be very cold up there. Just want to thank the forum as a whole for sharing photos and experiences this week, as well as knowledge and insight from a few notable individuals. I'll try to get some snaps in the next day or two now we have laying snow.

Loz in Deal.

Looking at the radar looks like the snow might stop here soon, bein' right on the edge n' all.

Tiny flakes of snow starting to fall here in Boxley (Maidstone)...can those South of me give me an idea of what's it like and how heavy?

By radar little bit over Maidstone bit heavier.. Looks light in most places.. I'm red dot but too far SW of you to give any incling of intensity for you
