We have an untouched 10cm in the back garden which was 17cm at one stage but the stupidly low dewpoints and sublimation has changed all that.

All 3 kids off again tomorrow so tomorrow is their day to destroy it and have fun.

Told them they could only go out there when the end of the spell looks likely

.........................Before the reload next weekend

Oh no, Arsenal have just missed a penalty!! I think Hayley, should come home now, to avoid further frustration and frostbite!! :cold:

Regards,

Tom.

These wind gusts down here in SE Essex are the strongest of this Cold Spell, can only begin to imagine how strong they are in the South West

Some very interesting things going on above our heads as well.

The warm sector raced across the region earlier between 5-7pm with temps rising from -2c to +1c in area and the dewpoint dropping back to -4c

Now it has fallen to -1c here and the dewpoint has dropped again to -7c

Yep just popped out and it’s almost as if a thaw set in, snow now wetter underfoot rather than powder and more of a crunch to it, odd to feel after getting used to the “talc” underfoot

Looks like snow event tomorrow is "still all to play for" for us tomorrow according to Ben Rich on BBC 24?:wallbash:

I would just like one more snow event and then Spring can come although somehow i think Spring will be delayed this year according to most models.

Still time for Gooners to stage a comeback Tom!!You never know in football.

Today is a very bad day to be a snow-loving Arsenal fan in West Sussex ☹️

the snow needs to get heavier if its to give a more heavy covering. its snowing but the flakes are nowhere near big enough to settle

(worthing)

Latest HIRLAM coming out now.

First ppn map:

That's for the three hours just been. Seems about right, even if I'm under the 1-2 blue zone there and this snizzle certainly hasn't given us a cm or two.

After stalling in the channel for an hour or so, it seems to have started moving again... Still snowing in the Surrey Hills. Couple of inches here. Bitterly cold and blowing a hooley

Someone should tell those motorists on the bridge to slow down. Looks like a winter scalextrick session

Do you think it'll make it this far East of the region that soon? It looks to me that it's following what the HIRLAM has proposed which means if it follows it's current track it won't be over to us till the evening, and even then how far East it makes is still debatable.

Sorry for the late response..........Snowing in Croydon right now. Quite heavy and settling

Ever get the feeling it’s just not your night and it won’t come any closer? Fully expecting it to fizzle out over the Channel, but would love to be wrong!

Light snow for a few hours here in Reigate.  A tiny top-up to the small amount of settled snow.  Nothing notable, notwithstanding we are right on the amber/yellow warning border.  Is it possible, just for once, that the snow may not be as heavy or extensive as some have predicted?
