Still small flakes but coming down very hard and settling now! We in the west have had to wait all week for a flake, so this is cool! ?

It’s not moving at all as they modelled it. Very interesting weather right now.

I’m daring to believe that PPN will cross the Channel into the East of the county but that’s just pure madness right??? I shouldn’t even be looking at the blasted radar!

This chart isn't true in its eastern extent, there is no snow in central/eastern Brighton, yet.

Down here its close to 2 inches, but other than the moderate fall this morning we had no base so to speak. Drifting really becoming more noticeable here though to be fair!

PS, where is that Amber warning, the yellow warning no longer is adequate for Hampshire/Surrey, and soon won't be for counties to the north.

amber warning for 2 inches?.... erm...

Not in Crawley, yet, where according to the radar it should be snowing

I said radar can give false echoes and get told off

Its not giving false echos, it's because the snow is evaporating before it its the ground because it is too light (dry air)

Now something very Intresting is I'm very close to the Thames and even when I have the lightest returns on radar it falls as lovely fluffy flakes albeit small and light

What I can only imagine is happening is that very small change in moisture within the air close to the surface is allowing it to travel all the way down.

Or I'm making it up and it's just pure luck

Nah, thats present amount where I am, the warning will be for I'd guess 10-20cms,same as what the SW has given the system has come up further east than they were expecting, warnings will need to follow eastwards as well.

Grass is pretty much gone here now, as has the curbs.

Very well, considering yesterday and last night was meant to be dry, and according to various sources it was also not going to be any more snow today after the first band

We should both see similar conditions this evening and I’m going for 6 inches by morning ?

That radar was from 16.15 though it's 20 mins since then and there's barely a flake floating in the wind. Odd.
