Don't look now guys but a massive chunk of PPN has built up and radar is not showing this move as it should.

Compare the Dutch radar +3 to what is happening, this is meant to pivot round to the west and away from us, it isn't it is pushing North.

Some very light snow falling again in Greenwich now

Looks as though the whole system is building on the Eastern flank

And that's before we see what happens as the stuff growing Eastwards in France hits the channel...

This is getting exciting! Light snow here too from main stuff across London area bodes v well. :)

Worth noting the GFS 12z has now comeon board.

It is also going for a bout of freezing rain near the south coast probably upto 30 miles from coast in the early hours which will make things exceptionally dangerous!

HIRLAM also does something similar.

Then Friday another band comes in and gives another quick fire 3-5cms.

Agreed not sure what is being said above but it’s nonsense there’s more developing to east too. :)

Genuinely didn't expect this to make it to Kent, it is pushing towards us at a rate of knots.

Heavy burst over Haslemere over to Horsham, A3 will be an utter nightmare I'd imagine from that sort of snowfall. Next stop is Farnborough and then up through to Reading, probably 2-3cms an hour rate in the most intense part of the band.

Moderate snow now it's hard to get a clear depth reading but 3" in non drifts and some drifts are about 7" got my own drift building up against the front wall

Down here its close to 2 inches, but other than the moderate fall this morning we had no base so to speak. Drifting really becoming more noticeable here though to be fair!

PS, where is that Amber warning, the yellow warning no longer is adequate for Hampshire/Surrey, and soon won't be for counties to the north.

Anyone checking the thread before leaving work and travelling down the A3 after Guilford be very careful. In standstill traffic in a blizzard & hard to see where traffic has stopped. Very heavy snow.

Its heading our way 'ish' - at some point it will want to go NW or fizzle out

The 12z updated Hirlam has some PPN over the SE this eve -but seems to have initialised missing that PPN that we see on the radar - so to be 100% honest its a bit of an unknown-

here is tomorrow midday up until 11pm

indicating a very slow moving pulse of snow coming up from the south-

After that I think thats your lot-

I think things will turn milder - Which im happy with, although I have half an eye on UKMO 144 as it has a similar preesure profile & build up as Mar 13 .......

It is pivoting NW and the Eastern flank will just get eroded. Can’t rule out a light covering for those in the W/SW of the region though. Good luck chaps ??

Pretty much

hope folk don’t get too excited

tomorrow looks interesting

It isn't pivoting even though you'd expect it. Also latest HIRLAM already brings precip all the way to East Kent but has everything further west than where it actually currently is.

Exactly the same depth as here mate. We’re doing well for a change!

I'm sure someone or some people are looking at the radar and SAT and going...

Hmmm :pardon:
