You can see how the energy is pushing NE, light snow should push into London within the next hour

Starting to snow a littleheavier now, we've been in a slightly weaker downflow ofthe heavier stuff over Haslemere area, but should be a good hour or two here now with moderate precip knocking onthe door.

Energy is still slightly spreading eastwards but the main band nearly aligned N-S which suggests any more eastward gain is going to be slim and probably by 4m we will seea slight pull back towards the west, but that will be very very slow process.

That's what I thought but I am obsessively following every frame on between radar and it seems to be shifting. The radar is not perfect though.

Temps and dewpoints must have gone up.
All the drifting snow across the road in the filed is now somewhat heavy and not dry.
Not happy.

Snow is increasing in intensity significantly now.

Flakes are very small, but there’s is a marked decrease in visibility!

To be expected, we've now cut off the feed of exceptionally low uppers.

Most of the models had the swing north happening sometime between 1500 and 1600, though given the eastward extent of the precip compared to some of the models it would probably need to make the turn slightly earlier if the negligible snow depths are to verify. Next hour should tell us a lot!

Sounds about right, looking at the cells right on the eastern edge they have got an ever so slight west of north motion but very little difference from due north.

Should get a few cms from this in Hampshire and SW Surrey upto Guildford and across from there westwards.

Came up from Exeter yesterday (DAMNIT!!) but surprised at how much snow is falling in Surrey between Woking and Guildford. Snowing quite heavily now and looking at this radar, surely we're still in the firing line?

Good to see you posting again WiB - I fear I am too Far East in Reigate for anything significant but time will tell!

Afternoon all,

It stopped snowing in Southend around lunchtime, got  good 2 or 3 cm top up, although the skies have remained leadened all day, and now in the last 15 minutes the gusts have increased in strength and we are getting little snow drifts forming.

Cheers

FC

Dew point here is about -6 with the temp being -2

There was a guide on here where you add the dew point and air temperatures together and get a probability of snow.....would appreciate if someone could re post it!

I can tell you that when they add to -8, your chances of snow are well above 100%....
