Eastern extent of this current system, looking at the radar, seems to be about Worthing!?

Pretty much if you haven't got at least light snow now, your probably not going to get anything from the main batch coming up from France, could still be showers on the eastern side however.

And that's what's the beeb forecast said, in effect, just now - not much snow in our region until tomo. [But let's see] say I].

If anything the precipitation is further east than the HIRLAM prediction, which is better still.

I’ve also noticed the English Channel is ‘beefing’ up the snow south of the IOW ?

Struggling with internet in a meeting, can anyone tell me if the scary blob is heading due north or the tiniest bit east as well? I'm right on the line so if it's at all heading east I need to leave and head home.

Amended forecast for this p.m. heavy snow well west of worthing, light and maybe a bit moderate east of the heavy stuff, as far east as brighton at least [and inland of these places, of course]

Moving up from the south then a bit NW over your region. You might get some light or moderate snow, depending where you are/will be, exactly.

Well I made it to work in Maidstone at 6am this morning. Started having a few flurries while I was on the M20 and it snowed quite heavily between 8-9. Ended up going out delivering to a few roads which was quite a challenge. Same again tomorrow assuming I can make it in. Photo is near Pilgrims Way in Harrietshamstedehill.thumb.jpg.9944a0d2089b87c910ff80a77230ea21.jpg

I must admit I've never been more confused about what's happening with a weather event than I have with this low from France or wherever today/tomorrow. Warnings are all over the shop - there, gone, back etc different sites showing different things, models etc...like what is happening??? :wallbash::rofl:

Interesting, and HIRLAM appears close to the mark again, BUT it does all seem 50 miles further East on the radar, both extent and energy...

I think that's sensible. Quite likely to be the case, and if not, you get a pleasant surprise.

Not thought I'd ever say this but I disagree with you. I've been watching this all morning and thus far it's been going in a straight SW-NE line whilst expanding to the East and intensifying. I was worried it'd be pushed West or indeed pivot and been expecting it to happen at any point but so far it's not done that. I admit it's baffling as it should but no matter what radar or sat I look at it simply hasn't.

Yeah. Think the temp will be about freezing or 1, being on the coast.

And any precip that might fall in the remainder of today will probably be sleety too.

:)
