And the tongue of snow to the north of Horsham is now producing some light stuff in Dorking.

The next person to use an App forecast and go into one in here will be banned !

How many times can you say the same thing, apps are useless , automated forecasts are crap.

The weather doesn’t behave according to an app.

Will people please stop checking apps every 10 minutes and just wait and see what happens .

Moan over !

NS newly assigned App moderator !

The apps have actually been quite accurate at short range i.e. 1 to 12 hours but beyond that, useless.

You’re banned! :D

The same thing happened a few days back, a lot of misery peddling by some in the threads because the damn App said no.

And then more moaning about the weather warnings when as we’ve seen the weather doesn’t behave according to a weather warning.

Anyway that’s my last word on Appgate! :D

Mine has gone again, my Dad is coming down with a bigger ladder as the block is clearly further up what a pain!

Yes ours involved me perching on an upper floor windowsill, holding the frame with one hand and reaching with the other to pour hot water on the top section of the pipe... NOTE: I am NOT recommending this course of action...

There looks like enhanced precipitation forming ahead of the main band and heading towards the Home Counties!

Pretty much exactly like the high resolution models suggested, this will help to focus the precip in the next 2-3hrs or so. Then we need to hope that the stronger precipitation continues to slowly spread eastwards.

I blame Nixon. First, Watergate. Then Appgate.

Yes, about to do a type up on computer against hilram and Arpege it's Intresting I get what the models are hinting at now draw a diagonal from IOW into biscay and ignore everything on the western side, focus on the Eastern side of that line

Yes - I put in the MOD thread that the models had really slowed down that front- almost to a stall

Euro 4 goes for 10cm across London... by sat 6am- PPN front starting friday Eve ( slightly later than usual )

Hmmm not quite I'm afraid Steve

It's starting from an expected base of between 2-10cms across the London area before the front hits:

18030212_2_0106.gif

(which, by the way, seems rather unlikely - it's forecasting a few cms of snow through the region overnight but we'll have to wait and see)

So when we then switch to what it forecasts on top of this:

image.thumb.png.9b3fcd1330c93d3fccad972ea7fd9ece.png18030306_2_0106.gif

Maybe another 2-5cms it looks like from that. Precipitation rates generally between 0.5-2mm per 3 hours so nothing too drastic, especially running into ever increasing dew points (so snowfall ratios possibly a little less impressive than in the previous few days)

But we have seen the EURO4 underestimate PPN amounts before so we'll have to see what unfolds
