Someone remind me to move away from worthing to somewhere that actually gets decent snow

It's one of the reasons I moved to the blue bell hill area. Always gets the snow it seems

Kent has certainly been the place to be so far it seems

Somehow here over the last 24 hours Greenwich has maintained a position inbetween all of the heaviest precipitation. Just light to moderate snow here through the morning and and looks likely to ease off over the next hour or so.

ECMWF still keen on a spell of decent snowfall through tomorrow late afternoon/evening

Far more than I expected, looks like a blizzard for the last hour and getting heavier.

Snow blowing everywhere, not amounting to a lot but looks good.

Radar shows this front getting heavier as it travels over kent.

There looks like a bit in the nor sea. Wonder if the easterly component is strong enough to get it west

Appears to be fizzling out in Reigate.  Pretty feeble really.

Gone in Charlwood too.

The snow moving across the Brest Peninsular is moving north, maybe even slightly west of north, so I can’t see that area having any impact here.

Our only hope is back building, as many have mentioned here.

Just dropping in as the sister thread has more folks in Anglia than Essex - I'm in Brentwood and it's snowing small flakes, but lots of them. Everything we cleared yesterday from the patio etc has been covered again, and  the wind is blowing a blimmin gale.

Did not expect this at all this morning! V interesting to see how the next couple of days pan out. It's still -3.4c here.

Nothing doing in Mid Sussex - occasional light flurry. Just had a message from my daughter who is a nurse in the Scottish Borders (Galashiels) - got to work for her shift at 7am yesterday and hasn't been able to go home since. All roads blocked etc, laying snow already knee-deep with drifting to over 3 metres.

Canewdon, Essex. Sounds just like what you're describing.

Blizzards now

Ok so to recap:

1: Watch the area near Brest, probably going to be too far west but Hampshire may be in the game.

2: Most models still going for a spell of snow tomorrow at some point, though there is still timing disagreements. Probably 3-5cms widely from it.

God bless Mother Thames. She has really delivered on this one. Intensified the band massively as it crossed the water. Must be official Blizzard conditions right now.

915 radar update

clinging onto the back edge here with more building over tonbridge ( still pitch black here )

Sweet spot currently for next 2 hours

SE & central / East Essex.

Colchester down to NE london - all points SE down to the thames-

Can the tonbridge line build!?

Hi Steve do you know if we will be getting any more today here on sheppey as BBC weather app was saying light stuff for us if anything and yet it's been like a blizzard here for about an hour and half and the sky looks full of it not that I am complaining just a bit confusing lol.

Wow!

Probably the longest period of heavy snowfall from this entire cold spell so far, the green has just been sat over us here.

Where's here Daniel??

Just when you think it's about to fizzle out and move NW we get the heaviest and most prolonged snow here in SW Essex I've seen throughout this cold snap. Moderate to heavy snow for the last hour.

I am assuming the much hailed Hirlam has been proved crap again. Reigate and the Surrey downs have got F all again . It really is staggering how that band has intensified north of us again. What the heck is going on .

That's crazy. Charlwood, Horley, Reigate and Redhill all now stopped. It' so localised.
