Light snow falling now ? Brighton

Yup a few whispy flakes blowing in the wind ...getting steadily heavier but at a painfully slow rate.

I'm about 12 miles west north west of brighton. A decent fall on the go now, with snow settling nicely.

Morning

-5.4c, DP -8c here and very windy from the NE all night.

Looking at the band, it’s just not making inroads across the Channel here unfortately. I see the MO have updated my forecast for today to heavy snow for a few hours but just don’t see it happening as there’s nothing to indicate that on the radar..in fact, all the stuff out in the sea seems to doing here is becoming lighter and lighter.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better here!

Most people have their locations showing on the left of the screen. Maybe you can't see that on phones.

The updated fax show quite well by 1800 the front covering a wider area spreading east towards I strongly think this is gonna be an historic event with many places including parts of London seeing 20cm + time will tell but I expect the forecasts to change as day goes.

Please please drift more NE and hit us in Essex!

There's been powdery snow falling in Gillingham since I left home at 5.20.  Still going now (in Chatham) but very light.

Looking at the radar returns I should be under a heavy snow shower here in Hove...very odd as what im seeing isnt even close to the intensity that the radar is showing and its such a thin band that its likely to be gone soon.

Been up sice 4am watching this come in...I fear a lot of us might be dissapointed with this one...unless it somehow back builds and intensifies

Interesting as I've been under similar returns further north in surrey and have got settled snow. Wonder if there a local wedgeof more stable air from the building warm front to the north?

Had a dusting recently and now have the delightful snizzle. As this is frontal and not showery like recently, you’ll definitely have more there regardless - elevation will make a difference. You ‘up’ or ‘down’ in Reigate?
