I’m 42! And I’ve been waiting for this day since 2010 having seen my in-laws get epic snow and I in snow starved Frinton on sea having seen little.  Moved to Shirley  Croydon in 2013 and seen diddly swat!

So this week is great, and having cried into my beer Tuesday morning, I’m enjoying the streamers coming our way last night and today.

Took my kids sledging (first in their living memory) and have severely bruised my wrist! Do I care?! (It flipping hurts!)

looking at the radar, it seems quite a bit is firing off,  and had a good 3cms this evening and more on the way.

Snow flurries on and off , some big flakes swirling around in the wind .The only thing I’m not liking is the amount of gas I’m having to top up with my heating ? , apart from that I’m loving this exceptional weather right now ?

Showers definitely building further west than before, which is good news for those in West London.

Hoping the more blanket looking radar image coming off the North Sea builds into something good though.

Anyone got a good radar for France? Was thinking that it’d be good to watch the precip moving up!

I’m wanting a good day of snow. It’ll kill me work wise (I manage a very small team) and we are super busy as it is. 5 of my 10 wouldn’t be able to get in if it was bad and then with me unable to get in too (3.3 mile walk down from the hills to the town centre) the work would pile up very quickly...

But! my 11 year old would love a snow day! His little face on Monday as we drove to town,  watching some of the village kids already out with sledges as one of the two primary schools were closed was so sad!

So, we only live once and all that! Bring on the snow :cold::drinks:

I'm 33 and I'm in the Caribbean so missing all the poxy snow!!!

Typical that i miss the best event in probably 20+ years

I always book my holidays for anytime after March onwards for precisely this reason - snow is so hard to come by in England, I wouldn't want to miss out when it does come.

Really interesting as that is very similar to something I just noted, the steering currents are more ENE than the models were expecting at this time, suggesting the low maybe evolving slightly differently than planned at this stage.

Pray HIRLAM is right, 17cms here!

Great point and I have put that to Chris on tx

Very strange weather down in France where my wife is at the moment, it is currently snowing near Cognac in SW France, and tomorrow they are forecast to get temperatures of around 14 to 15 degrees!

FC

Just been on the phone to my mum who lives in St. Claud, not far from Cognac. She was watching their weather whilst on the phone and the French Met seem to have the low heading north but on a track that will include here in the SE

45, by the way. Lot of similar ages here.

I grew up in the West Country, so remember some a great winters in the early 80's, which certainly gave me the weather bug.
