Very disappointed only had a dusting of snow before I went to bed nothing else

Quite surprised as in Shoreham it has been coming down for a while now, about 3cm of lying snow.

Are we expecting the wind direction to veer back to a more NE / E direction ? It's been N for hours.

Blimey what a load of rubbish . Even by the met office performance that is truly pathetic . Amber warning zone and not even s covering . I thought winds were supposed to turn east ? The whole lot heads to Kent really ??? . Looks like a day in sodding Croydon on trains . Total crap ?

It's great to see some areas get a good snowfall overnight but for the majority of us this is turning into a major disappointment

For me

  • I thought they were supposed to be dream synoptics, I just can't see how they were
  • I thought it was supposed to be windy, it certainly isn't here
  • I thought it was supposed to be unusually cold, it isn't
  • I thought there were supposed to be widespread heavy showers merging into bands of snow - there hasn't been

So what went wrong or was it just over hyped?

Well temps are about 8 or so degrees below normal,so it is unusually cold ,by a big margin ,lol

showers are just hit and miss I’m afraid, only 1 cm here ,Maidstone 10cm is it ? OR more ?

-3C here with clear skies, no snow at all after a few showers yesterday. See what today brings, looks like it’ll be sunny so that will be nice. Could do with a more organised trough or front to give areas W of London some snow, that looks unlikely though. The low for the end of the week doesn’t look like bringing much milder air in now, could be some more persistent snow then?

Very cold here this morning (-5c) but dry with nothing falling overnight.

I don’t expect to see much at all today west of the capital.

Nice to see some have snow to enjoy though ?

Overhyped, I can’t understand receiving two met off ice yellow warnings for Thursday and Friday at 0457 this morning having just read a post from someone who had just spoken to the “chief” at Exeter to say not much expected.

Friday still looks good, but the Met Office is keen on slightly milder air over the weekend, so any snow will begin to thaw.

Some people in East Anglia might not see anything at all with the fronts not making inroads that far north and east, so with many missing out over the next couple of days, and then again on Friday, that’s going to be a let down for them.
