Nice 10 min shower here, everything covered except the roads. I’m in SW Essex (Thurrock)

got a meeting tomorrow in Kingston which I was secretly hoping I could canx because of snow - was expecting a rerun of Feb 09 overnight but looks not likely so better prepare instead for meeting !

I did well here in Feb ‘09. I think the flow must have been more easterly.

Ouch sr, we really don't want to hear that, do we!! :nonono: Yes a NE flow, will favour a mid-Kent to E.Sussex, streamer.

I'll just have to console myself, with my pasta and meatballs!! But let's wait and see, what the next 24 hours bring!!

Regards,

Tom.

I know, it's gutting! But pleased for those South and East of us (if a tad jealous!)

Enjoy your pasta and meatballs ? ?

It's just dawned on me why this is not working out for snow lovers. Its just too windy: the showers are moving too quickly to drop much at all over any given area.

Unless these showers merge and get much heavier, there will be flying toys everywhere in the morning when it sinks in that it's school/work/etc as usual. If you don't believe me, look at any weather radar in animated mode.

Hello I'm new here although I have been lurking for 3 years. I just had to post as everyone thinks I'm boring talking about the snow but I just love it! I got a weather station similar to the ones posted on here  the other night so I'm able to join in with temperatures, although I don't have dew points.  Sooo excited ?

Yup anything north or west or south of a line from Norwich to Brighton looks a fail. Good luck to those further east and south east.

'My' warning - Gatwick area - is from 2:00am. Winds veered mid-afternoon from this morning so no reason not to think the flow won't 're-veer' early hours. If it looks the same at midnight, then I'll throw it in.

To be honest I wasn’t expecting much from this set up in Ashford, right on the SE side of the higher risk area and winds looked too Easterly for us out here further east.

However, wind direction is a bit more NE and showers seem to be lining up and I’m a bit more hopeful. Limited time offer though as winds are expected to veer more east then SE. Need to pile in those showers while we can, 0.5 Kentimeters in the last shower!

Winds staying NE for about 12 hours so all good.

Hard to keep track of whats forecast with all the different apps and weather forecasts.

Anyone think I might see my first settled snow in years? in Haywards Heath West Sussex?

Met office have me just inside the amber warning right at the bottom part of the amber area, but sounds like the winds gone more North than expected?

Large cluster of showers now running down the Suffolk/north Essex coastline...could be good.

You made me freak the hell out earlier when you said it was over for ashford

Wrong you were ?

I said the opposite. I said winds are staying NE with showers moving SW while the convergence zone is being pushed further south than previously forecast.

Slight misunderstanding haha!!! ?

Instead of north Kent, estuary etc. all is going to be more SE.

Snowing properly in TW now. Was so busy sulking that it wasn’t here yet I didn’t look out for half an hour or so. Everything is white! Yay!
