Fingers crossed for us tonight in Crawley. On the Met office radar it seems south of us will do better but we can hope.

It's looking even better now!!!!!

We are looking at continuous snow to 4pm tomorrow woww

According to apps even Met Office app I was dry as bone but I had MANY powdery snow showers each deposited a dusting. The apps are my pet peeve.

Exactly. I’m pretty sure apps use raw model data from specific outputs which will mean they change all the time and are hit or miss.

Good to have you in this thread, you're first port of call for something starting up out in the Estuary!

Same feeling as @Paul Sherman had to leave that place. Toys everywhere ?

A disappointing snow effort here today. Nothing on the ground. Not fancying my chances much tonight either. We shall see.

Incidentally, whoever said that a degree or a few below freezing is too cold for snow ... not true. That's an old wive's tale, but people in the UK repeat it.  Fact: It rarely snows when the temperature drops below zero fahrenheit, or -18 C), but snow can fall even then. [And look at Siberia...!]

People being a bit disheartened about the lack of snow showers so far I get it, but wasn't  it always going to be this evening and through the night that the real snow arrived? Anything before is a bonus :)

I would triple check all APPS tbh :friends:

Or not use them at all in this situation because they all have exactly the same source for their data

It’s a joke .... what can I say ... I like to wind ppl up when a huge issue is made out of them ! Also everyday ppl who don’t have as much INTEREST as us rely on them ... rant over and no hard feelings :)

Just buy a month of radar on this site for £3.49. Uninstall the apps and regain your sanity.

Yes, but very localised tonight due to streamers setting up. Some areas (like mine) might only receive a dusting, whereas Kent and Sussex could see several inches.

Subtle wind changes can bring larger areas into the game though.

The free one is almost as good too, albeit with significantly less options

Off topic (sorry) but we were at a Denbies tasting session last year, and they were talking about the UK sparkling wine industry.

The lady taking the tour mentioned we can’t call it Champagne (obvs) so my Dad asked if they had a name in mind - and the lady said “No”,

to which my Dad responded:

”Why don’t you call it ‘Brolly’?”

IMO I would LOVE if they called it Brolly ?

Sorry, off topic but very funny and very good !!

Moderate snow shower here, I absolutely love how you can see it blowing around in the ground. Nothing better than dry, powder snow!
