Knew Surrey hills would get a pasting, its pretty normal in such a setup

Yes, correct. As soon as the view to the North and South Downs disappears you know it's game on

the words "snow" and Thanet" do not seem to like each other as we had a few flakes earlier but not even enough to make the grass white and it is very sunny now, perhaps we will get luckier during the week :cold:

Looking at the flow developing now and things in the north Sea adding in the aid in convection later I would put a diagonal line of high risk from around Ipswich to around Basingstoke and make it around 30 miles wide south that looks like a good shout to me

This all bodes well for tonight, we were not meant to get much of anything today and many people are seeing a dusting or more already.

Looks like Medway will get our first proper coating in a long while tonight.

That looks like the elevated part of South Croydon - Selsdon, Sanderstead, Croham Hurst etc. About 500 feet asl there.

Interesting, I work in the planning department at Reigate council and I have just taken a call from Surrey CC that they are initiating their ‘snow contigency plan’ - this is where they are alerting the boroughs of potential disruption and we have to put information on our website, clear pavements etc...

Made it to hackney! ?

Seen some lovely heavy snow showers which seem to stretch along the A3 and up through the center of London.

It’s settling on cars and in gardens I’ve seen along the way.

Sunny intervals between - I keep thinking what a meal we’ve made over ‘a bit of settling snow’ but then again it’s just getting started ... ?

Seems the general public don’t appear too concerned about the potential disruption over the next 3 days. Could be real trouble on the roads and rails ppl!

Will definately be making tracks home early this afternoon - heard warnings on the radio regarding bad travel conditions and on a good days it’s 2 hours back from here !  ??????? ❄️

I've lived here since 2008 and I knew with past experience Shirley in Croydon would do well.. it's like a little sweet spot for streamers.

Currently -0.1 here in Locksbottom and just started snowing after some sunshine. We have had a mix of snow showers and sun since 8am this morning and have a covering of 1cm atm.Wasn"t expecting this so a brucie bonus.Hope when the real action is meant to start about 6pm we get plastered along with everyone else in the SE!!.Bearing in mind i am in Yellow warning for later today and Amber tomorrow this COULD be quite a disruptive few days and would say it is an even money chance schools will be shut tomorrow and Wednesday.

Lastly 06Z Icon out and has the Low going through channel which if correct would make Thurs night/Friday even more interesting and prolong the cold till next week.

About 1cm here in Godstone. Sun now out. Excited about what may come later though! Spoke with my folks in Tatsfield and they have substantially more, its always a sweet spot for snow!

Just flurries on and off here this morning in Hailsham

Very early days but I fear we’ll miss the main action later on today and night as we’re just too far south and east to be in the main band running NE to SW.
