Lol.. Give it a chance sb.. It was never going to suddenly dump 6 inches of snow in one go.

Not just us with out of the ordinary temps. The Arctic is positively balmy! Is this the result of the polar vortex split / SSW giving us our snow event and an early spring at the pole?

(Wow! Coldest of the year so far. -4C here now!)

Good morning! The beast is upon us! The streamers will really get going throughout today, I’m hoping for at least 5cm + this week, and good luck to all!!

It’s my shift off today and tomorrow, so looking forward to a couple of days of radar watching, already looks good out in the North Sea with heavy bursts building, nothing here yet in Leigh on sea

i'm home today too - feel really bunged up/achy - hope it's not the flu . . . we had a light snow shower earlier but the breeze just swept in straight past - hoping for something better as they day progresses :)

Hope it’s not the flu mate, seems to be a lot of that Aussie flu still going around. Atleast it’s a good day to be home with the potential of a streamer forming! Must of just missed that..although I think we should start seeing some more showers within the next couple of hours ❄️

This may be a stupid question from a complete novice.. does the sun coming up aid convection in these circumstances? IE would we see showers strengthen slightly after dawn?

Morning

Woke before the alarm and looked out hoping it’d snowed but nothing...still feel the disappointment like I did as a kid!

Currently cloudy, windy and -2.2c, DP -7c

The MO update looks good for Kent & Sussex..

I think it can help Ellozee, in the same way it does in the summer when the heat of the sun aids convection and storms.

I'm beginning to feel the same. I spent so long in Maidstone I always knew what the weather was going to do by just looking towards the Downs. I haven't got a scooby here.
