Without even a glimpse at the MAD thread, or any other source, I feel, in me old bones, that I have been here before and a truly memorable set up is coming our way. I don't talk about uppers & what multiple orgasmic models talk about, I just understand the basics. Cold, persistent easterly wind, drying & lowering ground & air temperatures. High pressure to our east, Scandinavia or wherever, with long drawn winds.

Bring a little old Atlantic depression along to bump into that & bingo! Southwest & most of the M4 west, or east, smothered.

Far better to be stuck at home making snow angels :cold-emoji:

Isn't Thursday looking likely? I cannot wait to be snowed in an unheated barn in the back a@$€ end of nowhere.Oh!

WAIT!

I'm safe. I'm  North of the M4. I'll just be frozen

Where I live we don't have lamp posts, in preparation for a few night possible lampost watching are there any specific ones I should acquire??

Or can I just stare out the window using my fisher price wind-up torch as a sudo lamp post?

Fisher price!!! Hahaha brilliant!!

Looks like another perfect synoptic evolution with the Iberian low moving NE giving an increased risk of snowfall to southern regions whilst driving snowbands in off the North Sea for more northern areas whilst keeping everywhere sub -10ºC 850s. I'll take that.

Another great post ^^

If this is how busy the thread gets on the run up to a bitter and potentially snowy spell, then I do wonder how busy it’ll get should some disruptive snow break loose over the region later next week! We’d probably get through 100 new South West and Central Southern England chat threads and it still wouldn’t be enough!

Wow. No, really, WOW. One of those showers might miss us.... that's kind of reverse for, "one of those showers might hit us, lets watch the lamppost at 3am to spot the flake". There is more snow to look at on that chart than there is :drinks:land!

We'll be too busy digging ourselves out of drifts/fixing burst pipes/burning books to keep warm to post
