Looks like we are too Far East today for that snow out west lol. Can't win! Do have about ten snowflakes frozen to my windscreen though...

More towards SE Wales

I'd think and hope for much greater potential than that... 2 days of heavy snow possible and only 5cm.. :cc_confused:

The snow looks much lighter than previously forecast but again still a few days yet for that to change

Beautiful day! My low temp was -4.2; got the day off, should be doing house chores but have a feeling I may be trapped weather watching again ?

Bright blue skies and a temp here of -1.8. I haven't been in the MAD thread. And looking at the Meto app this morning snow seems to have disappeaed again.

Quick check of the Metoffice for Warminster and now have yellow warning from Thurs until Saturday. Also sub-zero temps most of that time and snow. What's not to like!? BBC's Carol very bullish this morning too. I'm on board the train...

Had about 2cm here in Bognor Regis, steady snow through the morning dropping the kids off. Will most likely melt in sun but at least my 4 year old has finally seen snow and had a snow ball fight. Can cancel the holiday to norway now lol

What’s this Facebook page ive been reading about

I have a Facebook Weather Page for my local area of Midsomer Norton and Radstock. I have many followers a few from afar afield as South Africa. I update it with two forecasts morning and evening with a local slant and regularly update in between using radar etc for giving an up to the minute reports of when rain, snow etc are likely to hit. The link is in my signature below.

Now thats more like it... a slight south east adjustment and then we have ourselves some fun people :santa-emoji:

Shame these are so inaccurate though.

10 - 20cm would be best in a decade if it happened.

The ground it too cold for it to melt. You might see it vanish/diminish due to sublimation - very dry air removes the moisture from the snow, thereby shrinking its depth. The wind also blows snow from flat surfaces, tending to pile it up into what eventually become drifts.

The convergence zone in the Channel as here

needs to move a little as here and it might just impact along the south coast

Morning Knocker (perhaps I should look at your short range posts before commenting) I have a question. Looking at Vis Sat, what is the explanation for the apparent circulation of cloud over the UK? Is it just the expected isobar layout or is there a low forming over us right now? - such as, a Polar low in situ? :pardon:

I have some seen some forecasts in my time but the suggestion of 3 hours of heavy snow in plymouth tomorrow is frying my brain!!

This is the event for this locale this week as on current modeling (can all change) friday might not be as impressive for snow as tomorrow!

Fergieweather

W COUNTRY 2/2 Later Thurs into Thurs night/Fri, low pressure from S continues to look threatening in models. Risk of more widespread snow spreading N; moderate-heavy in places, perhaps locally blizzards. Added risk of freezing rain following for some. Detail v complex/uncertain.

Fantastic,.  can't wait. Haven't really had time to have a look this morning so that's a nice surprise. Thought we were going to miss out and just get a few flakes. Fingers crossed ❄⛄❄⛄❄
