Is it the done thing to ask for snow predictions? I'm trying to work out if North Devon might see any at any point.

In this thread an thing goes (within reason:crazy:). In answer to you question, no one knows, but probably!

Is it worth getting the full NW extra, or does the cheaper package include all the good stuff like the hi-res nwx and hourly gfs charts?

High res stuff is in the top pack all listed here

I have Extra Lite - it has all I need/can understand ?

Same, I mostly just use the radar but I look at the forecasts on there occasionally.

The radar from Netweather extra is brilliant and only £3.49 I think or something. Ideal when tracking pink blobs lol.

That app is pretty good. I use a different snow prediction radar which was obtained during a previous inter webs entanglement. It costs too much imo though. And as Mr M wisely warns; you cannot trust the forecast radar's accuracy.

As well as this coming Thursday's possibility, take a look back SW across the Atlantic on the attached graphic and there are two other 'potential' runners lining up if they move towards SW England 7 days plus from now.

I'm discovering tonight, some nasty cold draughts in my home. When it's cold, they seem to give away their lair. I'm going to have to sort that out...

One thing I've found about snow and dry air is that the snow insulates the house, then draughts get a little less severe.

I always find this when we have a keen easterly. The house is well protected from the usual W/SW draughts as found those years ago, but every time we have a spell like this I think I really must do something about my draughty east facing doors/windows

Hi guys, yes model madness. It's going to be fun next week (hopefully not a pit of depression by the end of it when our three feet of snow didn't come off!!). Cos that's as high as I think this could go!!

Good point both.. if there is a northerly every single pin hole of a gap  seems to send a force 4 gale through my house. I've done everything I can do at cost without rebuilding. However with an easterly it's blocked by me being terraced to next door... yay... bring on the easterly. Sorry Frosty Hollows.... ( just get some of that tuby type draught sealer. I added it to mine so it is doubled up. Takes ten mins to open the door but am not heating up the whole of Newbury now.... :pardon:
