Though there is nothing more beautiful than seeing it fall in sunlight, and, though it is dark with horizontal talcompowder snow, I do wish to report diamond dust. Clearly glistening like diamonds on the pavement, illuminated by the LED streets lamp.

Yep. Warham, Right down at 9m asl lol

Ah yes, I worked there for years. Wareham did seem as poor as Weymouth in that respect ?

I’m 2 miles inland and up a hill (30M ASL) so maybe that may just give me the edge here! I’ll count on you for the early warning signal  ⚠️

Wembury, SW Devon, 6 miles SE of Plymouth, 1 Mile from the coast

I *think* we have freezing drizzle.  It onlylasted a few minutes and now we have stunning ice crystals showing up in the torchlight.

Quite unprecedented!

No huge depths but the wind and the blowing snow is something I have only seen once before and that was back in 2009 but this event is more extreme.

i can only imagine where we will be this time tomorrow :0

Hope everyone is enjoying this beast!

Pretty decent amounts for us. Meto still saying heavy snow for us until early hours. What do you think?

Think we haven’t seen the end of it yet..

But I wouldn’t be surprised between now and this time tomorrow if we do see rainier than snowier PPN for at least some time.

I commute between Wool & Weymouth. Supposed to go to Weymouth tomorrow & get the pitch ready at Weymouth FC for Saturdays match. Of course, I follow media updates & my own instincts, but any updates would be appreciated.

P.S. Stuck in Wool today!

Hi guys, fairly new to this.

Is Storm Emma behaving how forecast? What are your predictions for its track, will it push further North? How is this having a impact on the rest of the UK weather?

Hi,

Welcome to the forum, Please visit your profile and add your location (roughly)

With regards to the forecast, it (to me) seems more east that projected.

I am expecting it to head north a bit, however the showers seem to be loosing strength quickly.

Despite the model consensus for it, freezing rain still being described as only a chance in warnings and forecasts.

Given the lack of red warning extension east and widespread talk of 10-20cm lying snow by morning (freezing rain would surely compact it?), it appears such an outcome is still not considered to be significantly more likely than not - so there’s still hope for those in CS England.
