It's not too bad from tavi to Mary tavy, bit snowy in places but take it slow and it's fine. Across blackdown isn't too bad either however going down from there towards lydford it's crazy! Would not tackle it without a 4x4! Police stopping anyone driving asking if you are ok and having a rant if your not in a 4x4. 3 cars were buried just before the fox and hounds, poor people who got stuck in there last night!

Thanks Snowponies, my son is heading out to Mary Tavy in a car with some friends. They are not experienced drivers. So I'm pretty worried. The joys of being a parent.

Me and my brother in front, last time we had snow like this was 78 I'm told and I was too young to remember sledging this in my romper suit. It's raining now  and 1.5 but hopefully we won't have to wait that long again. Maybe next weekend :). It's been epic on here and outside.

I think tonight's the most I've used the sad reaction on here.

That might be a blessing mate, it’s not pleasant! It’s actually quite disturbing! I’m not sure I’ll have a snowman left by morning ?

Well done for making a snowman - if there can be a disappointment about the snow here (besides the fact the kids keep leaving melting snow around the house and that the wife has brought in the rabbits (so they don't get too cold) and are leaving their own mementos everywhere in the conservatory), then it's too powdery to construct anything!

Just popped in the SE thread and a report from just north of Portsmouth (in the blue it on the radar) which is falling as heavy snow and settling. There is hope if the ppn ever moves north.

Still -1.4C here, where it has been for about 6 hours lol.

I was feeling negative but sometimes I need to believe more and tonight has done that got some amazing drifts in the garden will get pictures on first light tomorrow!

Just had a short spell quite heavy snowfall (heavier than yesterday) which hs now changed to ice grains. About 5mm additional snow which I didn't expect. Snow still crisp underfoot and temperature between -0.5 but feels as if it is rising.

Temperature: 1.6 °C
Dew Point: 1.2 °C
Wetbulb Temperature: 1.4 °C

Still ice everywhere, despite some moderate rain. There's puddles on top of the ice as well. Tons of water streaming down the walls, but they're still iced up.

The milder airs starting to show on wunderground. Just on the IOW and coastal areas at the moment but gradually moving north.

Fark! Huge crash on the roof, then a ton of ice slid down on to the surface below.

More likely you'll never get rid of him. I'm not happy, in fact I'm quite sad we're never going to get spring now are we???

Where abouts in Mary tavy are they going? Main road should be fine, anywhere else will be very dodgy! If it helps I passed my test in 2010 a couple months before the epic cold spell and I was working in princetown at the time (plume of feathers), I had some scary times but I learnt how to drive in snow pretty well! Police are patrolling so stopping anyone driving on that road and they want a good reason why you're driving on there!
