I think we’re slowly slipping into the weather type that will dominate the weekend. That is increasingly misty and dull conditions as winds fall much lighter. Temperatures near the surface will very much struggle by day and without much in the way of sunshine or wind snow will thaw very slowly, especially well inland. Odd bursts of precipitation drifting aimlessly up from the South could give a wintry mix at times too.

Hope everyone has been out enjoying the snow and not sat in front of the computer!

What a fantastic end to the winter it's been, much better than  I thought it would be this time last week.

Even though we haven't had the heaviest snow we've got more than a decent covering and some impressive drifts plus still more to come tonight it looks like.

Here's one of the lanes out of the village this afternoon:

I do wonder whether both the BBC and MetO take into account lying snow when deciding what the temperatures are going to be.

I've noticed yesterday for here they predicted a max of -2'c when it didn't get much above -4'c.

Today they predicted max of -1'c and it hasn't really got above -3'c all day.

I wonder whether tomorrow we could see yet another ice day as the MetO have predicted a max of 1 degree.

We shall find out!

For us "coasties" I'm still expecting rain, as the milder air has to slowly but surely begin to come ashore..

Wonder If I’ll get another ice day? Doubt it, but still -0.8c has been for a while now.

Not long been in, 5 hours walking in this winter wonderland up to the top of Butser hill on the south downs, taking in all the snowy scenes and spotting wildlife (it's fun trying to work out what animal made what tracks in the snow). The snow and wind on the top was incredible, and spiralling, vortex - like drifts were being blown around at the top. A few accumulations of around 4 or 5 feet in one particular spot.

Seems like a lot of you had some more snow! 12 pages I have just looked through.

Some lovely photos too. Thanks for sharing, I'll see if I can work out how to post photos at some point.

We haven't had huge amounts here, probably another centimeter or two today on top of yesterdays, but the sheer fun of watching it in daylight hours, three ice days in a row, strong winds and two days of snow in a row means this is probably my favourite snow event so far.

Now off to the pub, then to collapse on the sofa and fall asleep with a drink. Same time next week eh folks? :whistling:

My guess is rain on the coast, snow further inland especially over hills, however it may not even get here with the current intensity coming across the channel and die out somewhat which seems to be the trend today from that direction for some reason. Could be a last stand for another dumping somewhere also.......

Well today I decided to go for a walk and take some pictures as I probably won't see snow like this again for years!

-3.5C here so it will still be snow here if it falls.

Yes highly likely if it gets that far.

I've got a 3ft high pile of snow and ice outside of the backdoor, that'll take days to melt. I will document it every step of the way. It will not go down without a fight!

Few heavy snow symbols added on the MetO app from midnight. Might as well stay up and follow it one last time.
